CALL TO ORDER Chairwoman Nancy McGregor called the Committee of the Whole meeting to order at 7:56 p.m. with all members in attendance. B. DISCUSSIONS 1. ITEM FROM THE CITY ATTORNEY ORD-049-2020 ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF GAHANNA, OHIO: Enacting Section 501.14 Misdemeanor Investigation; Examination of Witness and Evidence of Chapter 501 General Provisions and Penalty City Attorney Mularski stated that we were lacking and ordinance regarding getting an investigative subpoena for misdemeanors. This legislation is to allow officers to have an investigative subpoena so that they can be investigated before being filed. RECOMMENDATION: Consent Agenda. 2. ITEM FROM THE POLICE CHIEF RES-008-2020 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SUBMIT A FORMAL GRANT APPLICATION FOR THE 2020 CORONAVIRUS EMERGENCY SUPPLEMENTAL FUNDING GRANT; AND TO AUTHORIZE THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO ESTABLISH A SPECIAL FUND FOR THE GRANT, IF AWARDED. City of Gahanna Page 1 Committee of the Whole Meeting Minutes May 18, 2020 Chief Spence presented his request to allow for the application of a grant that will help the city pay for COVID-19 related expenses. We aren't sure the number of dollars available, but there is a possibility to have multiple funding opportunities for this grant. RECOMMENDATION: Consent Agenda. 3. ITEM FROM THE DIRECTOR OF PARKS & RECREATION ORD-027-2020 ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, OHIO: Amending Section 153.01 Creation Chapter 153 Parks and Recreation Board. Mrs. Ferrell said that changes were taken to the Parks & Recreation board for discussion and the language "may be" was changed back to "is" and the days to meet are left at 10.
