CALL MEETING TO ORDER Chair Schuler called the April 6, 2016 Parks & Recreation Board meeting to order at 7:02pm B. ROLL CALL Present: 6 - Cynthia Franzmann, Eric Miller, Andy Piccolantonio, Jan Ross, Jill Schuler and Ken Shepherd C. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 2016-0121 2-3-2016 PR BD Minutes A motion was made by Shepherd, seconded by Franzmann, that the February 3, 2016 minutes were approved. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 6- Franzmann, Miller, Piccolantonio, Ross, Schuler and Shepherd D. ADDITIONS OR CORRECTIONS TO THE AGENDA New Business - A proposal request from WG Kitchen & Bar (Wine Guy). E. HEARING OF VISITORS F. OLD BUSINESS - None G. NEW BUSINESS City of Gahanna Page 1 Parks & Recreation Board Meeting Minutes April 6, 2016 i. GoForward Gahanna Results Euton shared the GoForward Gahanna results with the Board. Staff continues working on 2016-2017 initiatives. The initiatives will be reflective of the Goforward results, the Mayor's commentment and the P&R Master Plan. ii. Make Gahanna Yours Euton shared that Make Gahanna Yours is A city Beautification and Pride initiative. The group is an alll volunteeer, citizen driven committee organized to identify and implement projects that will beautify our community, increase desirability of commercial and residential real estate, promote the quality of life in Gahanna by encouraging a livable, walkable downtown district characterized by arts, culture, retail and entertainment and an all around beautifu, family oriented city. It was suggested that someone from the group should attend the Gahanna Parks & Recreation Foundation meeting. iii. Wine Guy Kitchen & Bar proposal Euton shared that the new owner of the Wine Guy at Creekside would like to expand their liquor permit to include the pergola just to the north of their outdoor patio. They would like to include food and alcohol service to the area. They will pay the Department a rental fee. The Department is taking the request to Council. H. CORRESPONDENCE AND ACTIONS Euton shared there was a complaint about a rental at the Golf Course Clubhouse. There were a lot of people showed up at a party that were not invited. An altercation broke out, there was an off duty Police Officer in attendance who called in a Code 3, various Police agencies that responded to the call. The attendees scattered throughout the neighborhood. The Police stopped everyone and searched those that were still present. A letter of complaint was received from a resident. I. 2016-0136 Director's Report Euton shared some highlights from the Director's Report. J. COMMITTEE REPORT'S a. Aquatics Advisory Committee - None b. Bicycle & Trail Advisory Committee (BTAC) City of Gahanna Page 2 Parks & Recreation Board Meeting Minutes April 6, 2016 Euton shared that the Big Walnut Trail Section 5 Ribbon cutting is scheduled for April 22 at 10am at the Golf course. E-mail invites will be sent. The committee is assisting with the BWT Section 4 input. d. Natural Resources Advisory Committee e. Veteran's Advisory Committee Veteran's Memorial Park Brick Dedication Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, 2016, at 1pm. K. POLL MEMBERS FOR COMMENT Gahanna Parks & Recreation Foundation Ross shared the Hops & Vines first planning meeting is April 7th. Sara Farley is the committee chair. At the last Foundation meeting members of the Arts Group at the High School made a presentation on the Art Fair on May 7th in conjunction with Herb Day. The event will be at the VFW field. The schools are creating new art mural for the bridge. The group requested sponsorship for the program and event. The Foundation sponsored $2,500. School Board Report Schuler shared that the Board has been interview for the Superintendent's posiition. They will be making a decision and announcement soon. The Board is working on the Master Plan.
