CALL MEETING TO ORDER Vice Chair, Piccolantonio called the meeting to order at 7:02pm. B. ROLL CALL Present: 4 - Cynthia Franzmann, Eric Miller, Andy Piccolantonio and Jan Ross Absent: 1 - Ken Shepherd OFFICER ELECTION Jill Schuler. Chair has resigned from the Board. As Vice Chair, Andy Piccolantionio is now Chair. Motion was made by Miller, seconded by Ross, Cynthia Franzmann as Vice Chair. Motion carred by the following vote: Yes: 4- Franzmann, Miller, Piccolantonio and Ross Absent: 1- Shepherd C. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion was made by Ross, seconded by Miller,that the May 4, 2016 minutes were approved. HEARING OF VISITORS City of Gahanna Page 1 Parks & Recreation Board Meeting Minutes June 1, 2016 F. OLD BUSINESS - NONE G. NEW BUSINESS i. Go Forward Gahanna Strategic Plans 2016-0213 Euton distributed a Status Update on the go Forward Gahanna Strategic Plans for Parks & Recreation. H. CORRESPONDENCE AND ACTIONS I. DIRECTOR'S REPORT Euton shared some of the hightlights of the departmnet from last month. Several Churches volunteered last month to help plant 100 tree saplings at Price Rd, make landscape bed improvments at Creekside and cleaning, painting and powerwashing at the Gahanna Swimming Pool. The Parks and Facilities staff have been prepping the pools for opening. The Senior center has several new programs for the Spring. Camp Friendship at Hannah Park location is 99.6% full, Adventure Camp at Friendhsip Park is 75% full. The Dept. received a $5,000 grant from REI to help build a new boat launch at Woodside Green Park. The GMAC trailer is available for rent. The unveiling will be at the Story trail on May 27th. J. COMMITTEE REPORT'S a. Aquatics Advisory Committee b. Bicycle & Trail Advisory Committee (BTAC) Euton stated that BTAC has been working with Yay Bikes to be at the Creekside Blues & Jazz Festival. The program is sponsored by the Gahanna Parks & Recreation Foundation. Sidewalks are being installed on rocky Fork. There will be summer bike rides. c. Natural Resources Advisory Committee - nothing d. Veteran's Advisory Committee City of Gahanna Page 2 Parks & Recreation Board Meeting Minutes June 1, 2016 Dedication was May 30th, Jerry Revish was the MC at the dedication. K. POLL MEMBERS FOR COMMENT Gahanna Parks & Recreation Foundation The Hops N Vines has been moved to Sept. 10th. Tickets can be purchased on line for $40 each. School Board Report L.
