CALL MEETING TO ORDER Chair Piccolantonio called the meeting to order at 7:00pm. B. ROLL CALL Present: 7 - Cynthia Franzmann, Eric Miller, Andy Piccolantonio, Jan Ross, Ken Shepherd, Joe Gottron and Sarah Mill C. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 2016-0283 PR mins 8-3-2016 Motion was made by Ross, seconded by Franzmann, to approve the Parks Board Minutes of August 3, 2016. HEARING OF VISITORS None F. OLD BUSINESS Nothing at this time G. NEW BUSINESS City of Gahanna Page 1 Parks & Recreation Board Meeting Minutes September 7, 2016 a. Active Senior Advisory Committee i. ASAC By-Laws DRAFT The Board reviewed the Active Senior Advisory Committee By-Laws. After some discussion it was decided to add the word Gahanna before the name. A motion was made by Shepherd, seconded by Miller, to approve the changes to the By-Laws with adding Gahanna to the name of the Committee. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 7- Franzmann, Miller, Piccolantonio, Ross, Shepherd, Gottron and Mill 2016-0279 ASAC By-Laws DRAFT ii. Active Senior Advisory Committee Appointee Motion was made by Shepherd seconded by Ross to appoint Laura Emler to the Gahanna ASAC for a term of 9-7-2016 to 5-310-2018. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 7- Franzmann, Miller, Piccolantonio, Ross, Shepherd, Gottron and Mill b. Aquatics Update - Brian Gill, Aquatics Supervisor 2016-0300 2016 Aquatics Overview Brian Gill, Aquatics Supervisor updated the Board on the Aquatic activities and membership numbers. c. Camp Friendship Update - Sara Crombie, Camp Supervisor 2016-0301 2016 Camp Overview Sara Crombie, Camp Recreation Supervisor updated the Board on the camp numbers. d. Recreation Division Update - Shannon Sorrell, Recreation Superintendent 2016-0302 Recreation 3qtr report City of Gahanna Page 2 Parks & Recreation Board Meeting Minutes September 7, 2016 Shannon Sorrell, Recreation Superintendent shared with the Board a three year revenue comparison for the third quarter. H. CORRESPONDENCE AND ACTIONS Nothing at this time I. DIRECTOR'S REPORT 2016-0303 Director's Report - Sept 2016 Euton shared the Director's report with the Board. J. COMMITTEE REPORT'S a. Aquatics Advisory Committee - NOTHING AT THIS TIME b. Bicycle & Trail Advisory Committee (BTAC) Piccolantonio shared that the August meeting was cancelled. The next meeting is on September 26, ,2016. c. Natural Resources Advisory Committee d. Senior Advisory Committee 2016-0286 ASAC minutes 8-17-2016 e. Veteran's Advisory Committee K. POLL MEMBERS FOR COMMENT Gahanna Parks & Recreation Foundation Ross shared that the Hops & Vines fundraiser is Saturday, September 10th. School Board Report Gottron shared that the School Board has three new committees: Student Learning and Achievement, Finance and Policy. These committees meet monthly.
