CALL MEETING TO ORDER Chair Piccolantonio called the meeting to order at 7:00pm B. ROLL CALL Present: 6 - Cynthia Franzmann, Eric Miller, Andy Piccolantonio, Jan Ross, Ken Shepherd and Sarah Mill Absent: 1 - Joe Gottron C. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Ross, seconded by Miller, to approve the Parks Board Minutes of September 7, 2016. ADDITIONS OR CORRECTIONS TO THE AGENDA Nothing at this time E. HEARING OF VISITORS Diana Ferrini is visiting from Mt. Carmel School of Nursing. They are doing a project on Gahanna and community health. F. OLD BUSINESS 2016-0313 Creepside Update City of Gahanna Page 1 Parks & Recreation Board Meeting Minutes October 5, 2016 Jeff Barr, Deputy Director gave an update on the Creepside Event. The event will be on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, 1 - 5pm. This is the first time having the event on a Saturday. The intent is to eliviate some of the rush hour traffic issues from the past. Marketing is geared towards Gahanna residents. G. NEW BUSINESS H. CORRESPONDENCE AND ACTIONS Nothing at this time I. DIRECTOR'S REPORT 2016-0315 Director's Report Deputy Director Barr shared the Director's Report with the Board. The pedistrian bridge over the Mill Race at Creekside is being replaced with a steel bridge, that will be 12' across. It will be easier for staff to maintain the island and trails. Membership continues to grow at the Senior Center. The playground at Hunters Ridge Pool will have a shade structure installed over it. J. COMMITTEE REPORT'S a. Aquatics Advisory Committee b. Bicycle & Trail Advisory Committee - Nothing at this time c. Gahanna Active Senior Advisory Committee - Nothing at this time d. Natural Resources Advisory Committee - Nothing at this time Mills would like to be on the committee when it meets next. e. Veteran's Advisory Committee Shepherd shared that dedication is November 11th at 11am. The committee is still seeking a Master Of Ceremony. K. POLL MEMBERS FOR COMMENT Piccolantonio asked Diana if she had any questions for the Board. Diana shared that this assignment in Community Health is to assess Gahanna's City of Gahanna Page 2 Parks & Recreation Board Meeting Minutes October 5, 2016 health. She requested how would members say the general health of Gahanna is:a lot of people are walking and biking the trials and community, camps are very active, we are trying to eliminate excuses and get people active. Gahanna Parks & Recreation Foundation Miller stated that the Foundation discussed McCutcheon Road Park. Miller would like the Parks Board to see a preliminary drawing of the playground for the new park. School Board Report - Nothing at this time L.
