CALL MEETING TO ORDER Franzmann, Chair called the February 14, 2018 Parks & Recreation Board meeting to order at 7:02pm at City Hall. B. ROLL CALL Ross arrived at 7:08pm Present: 6 - Cynthia Franzmann, Eric Miller, Andy Piccolantonio, Jan Ross, Ken Shepherd and Daphne Moehring Absent: 1 - Sarah Mill C. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Miller, seconded by Shepherd, to approve the January 10, 2018 meeting minutes. Herb Center update - Brooke Sackenheim Brooke Sackenheim, Herb Center Coordinator shared the 2017 Herb Center highlights which can be found in the attached GPRD Presentation. 2018-0039 Herb Center Update b. Community Recreation update - Zac Guthrie Zac Guthrie, Recreation Supervisor, shared the 2017 highlights for Parks & Recreation events, supported community events and projects which can be found in the attached GPRD Presentation. 2018-0038 Community Recreation Update 2018-0042 GPRD Presentation H. CORRESPONDENCE AND ACTIONS None I. DIRECTOR'S REPORT Director Barr shared an update of the 2017 summer camp program. Barr shared that the Facilities team is working on updating the Herb Center. The plaster has been repaired and painted. The team is working on shoring up the basement. Barr shared that Sara Crombie, Camp & Youth Recreation Supervisor has resigned from her position. Barr passed around the play elements planned for the McCutcheon Rd. Park. Staff continues to seek grants and other funding opportunities for the park build. All the environmental permits and easements are completed for Big Walnut Trail, section 4. Section 4 is almost ready to go out to bid. 2018-0030 Directors Report J. COMMITTEE REPORT'S a. Bicycle & Trail Advisory Committee (BTAC) Barr shared the next BTAC meeting is on April 23rd at 6pm. c. Natural Resources Advisory Committee Nothing at this time. d. Veteran's Advisory Committee Nothing at this time K. POLL MEMBERS FOR COMMENT a. Gahanna Parks & Recreation Foundation Ross stated the Foundation reviewed the final financial information for 2017 and will discuss the reserve accounts at the next meeting. Miller stated that Officers were elected at the January meeting. b. School Board Report Moehring shared that there is a levy kick off meeting. The levy is asking for 5.2 mills, of which 1.2 mill is the Bond issue to rebuild Lincoln Elementary on the Middle School South site and 4 mills is operating. There is one issue rolling off. The Education Foundation is having their annual fundraiser on February 24th at L-Brands. L.
