CALL MEETING TO ORDER Franzmann, Chair called the March 14, 2018 Parks & Recreation Board meeting to order at 7:03pm at City Hall. B. ROLL CALL Miller left at 7:40pm Present: 7 - Cynthia Franzmann, Eric Miller, Andy Piccolantonio, Jan Ross, Ken Shepherd, Sarah Mill and Daphne Moehring C. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion was made by Miller, seconded by Ross, to approve the February 14, 2018 meeting minutes. NEW BUSINESS Chapter 153 Review The Board discussed Chapter 153.01(b) Parks and Recreation Board. The Board made the following recommendation: 153.01 (b) A member of the Board may be removed from office for just cause by the appointing authority, following notice and an opportunity to be heard . Such removed member shall not be eligible for appointment to the Board for a period of five years following removal. Any member of the Parks and Recreation Board that has been absent from three FOUR (4) regular meetings during any calendar year, whether excused or not, is removed from office, but may be reappointed at the will of any appointing authority. The Board would like for Director Barr to forward the recommendation to Council. Motion was made by Shepherd, seconded by Moehring, to recommend to Council the proposed change to 153.01(b). CORRESPONDENCE AND ACTIONS None I. DIRECTOR'S REPORT Director Barr shared the Department highlights of the past month. Camp Registration Day on February 24th had three weeks at Camp Hannah sold out and is waitlisted. To date Camp Hannah is 80% full. The report is attached. 2018-0049 Director's Report-March J. POLL MEMBERS FOR COMMENT a. Gahanna Parks & Recreation Foundation Ross shared the Foundation has sponsored some new Parks & Rec programs. The new Gateway indicates which programs the Foundation is sponsoring. The 2018 Hops & Vines is on September 22. b. School Board Report Moehring shared that the Gahanna Jefferson Education Foundation Gala in February raised over $100,000. There will be an Operating and Bond Levy on the May 8th ballot for the schools. The first pamphlet drop was last weekend. L. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business the Board adjourned at 8:18pm.
