1. CALL MEETING TO ORDER
2. ROLL CALL:
a. Commissioners Present: A. Roberts, B. Balliet, B. Erickson, M. Hall
b. Commissioners Absent: S. Roberts
3. CHANGES TO THE ORDER OF AGENDA
4. PUBLIC COMMENT: Under Government Code Section 54954.3, members of the
public may address the commission on non-agenda items. Speakers may also
address the commission on any agenda item during consideration of the
item. Speakers shall restrict their comments to issues that are within the subject
matter jurisdiction of the commission and limit comments to a maximum of five (5)
minutes. Please fill out a speaker sheet located on the table inside the entrances
to the council chambers and forward the completed speaker sheet to the
commission secretary. Please state your name and city of residence prior to
making your comments.
5. ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES FOR THE MEETING
a. Minutes of the Special Meeting of October 27, 2016, November 29, 2016
and January 26, 2017.

7. OLD BUSINESS
a. Update Resource Guide – A. Roberts – need to work on this.
b. Need for a Senior Center – A. Roberts will work on this. B. Balliet and B.
Erickson will help.
c. Status for 2017 Health/Information Fair – Need to secure a date. A.
Roberts and B. Balliet will visit the Senior Club to discuss. Need to invite
insurance/medical companies to attend the event (such as Ed Jones
Investments).
d. Press Release – Alvin has drafted one and will submit to the Galt Herald.
M. Hall indicated that she has sent the Herald information on a possible
scam involving seniors, but has not seen it posted. Bob will visit the paper.
e. Facebook/Website – The Commission would like to know what procedures
need to be followed in order to have items placed on the City website and

Facebook. Monica will follow up the Clerk’s office regarding what
procedure should be followed.
f. Access to City buildings – Bob expressed concerns that the P&R office
front doors are hard to open. Would like to meet with the P&R Director to
discuss. Monica will talk with the Director and ask for a time to meet.
g. Visiting Senior Living Centers – Should the Commission start doing this
again?
8. NEW BUSINESS
a. An updated roster for the 2017 Commission was distributed to the
members who were present.
b. Commissioners would like to meet with one or two Council members to ask
for specific direction for the coming year. New Council Member Paige
Lampson will be invited to the February meeting (Alvin will ask Paige).
c. Meals on Wheels – Bruce volunteered to ask a Meals on Wheels
representative to speak at an upcoming Commission meeting.
a. What is their outreach program?
b. Would like to know that the numbers are for the meals served
locally. Monica can look up this information.

a. Ethics Training – January 31st 3-5pm at Galt Police Community Room
