1. Call Meeting to Order 10:02AM
2. Roll Call: Bob Balliet, Andrea Johnson, Robert Wilson, Phyllis Johnson, Libby Robbins.
Advisor: Monica Lopez, P&R Director Armando Solis, PIO Amie Mendes
(1) Guests – Mary Angel, Crawford Patton, Linda Burge
3. Public Comment: Under Government Code Section 54954.3, members of the audience may
address the Commission on any item of interest to the public or any agenda item before or
during the Commission's consideration of the item. Speakers shall restrict their comments to
issues that are within the subject matter authority of the Commission and limit comments to a
maximum of five (5) minutes.

4. Acceptance of Minutes: Minutes of Mar 24, 2022 BB/PJ (AJ Abstained, remaining 3 approved)
Presentations: Get Involved Galt Community Presentation – P&R Staff-Amie Mendes
presented the Get Involved Galt campaign. Copies of the presentation can be shared with the
Commissioners and other seniors (copies will be dropped off). A survey was sent out via Survey
Monkey asking about community-wide concerns. There were 315 responses.
Funding/Crime/Parks/Landscaping were top concerns.
5. Old Business:
(a) Possible Amendment to COA Bylaws re: adding 'advocacy' to the current Mission of COA
and Status of Commission: (Bob B & Andrea J) Proposed bylaw changes were submitted to the
Commission. Commissioners need to review them and if no changes, can vote on the changes
at the next meeting.
(c) Committee on Separation of GSRC from the City (Bob W) BW and PJ have discussed this
issue at length. They have a list of many pros and cons. They will work to bring the list down to
about 10.
7. New Business:
(1) Welcome New Commissioner – Libby Robbins (Bob B)
(2) COA Budget – Request for funding of ‘Proposed Administrative/Social Activities for Seniors
for the Calendar Year 2022 or Fiscal Year 2022/2023 – Status of application (M. Lopez).
Director Solis spoke regarding the proposed budget. Chairperson Balliet also spoke on this
item. Chairperson Balliet asked for authorization to talk with City Council regarding having
social activities for seniors. He will attend the May 3rd CC meeting.
(3) GSRC Status (Volunteers, reorganization, etc.… Bob B, Bob W, Shaun F) Volunteer
Shaun would like to become more involved with the Center. She would like the GSRC to
do things such as vacation checks, responding to accident scenes, getting information on
various diseases that may affect seniors, visit regular events, and getting a schedule set
with 12 + volunteers.
(4) Report on Eggstravaganza – (Bob B) this event was a family event that did not have many
seniors in attendance. It was a good networking opportunity though.
8. COMMISSIONERS REPORTS:
