City of Galt MINUTES COMMISSION ON AGING 610 CHABOLLA AVENUE, GALT, CA SPECIAL MEETING Thursday, October 13, 2022, at 10:00 AM Chairperson: Bob Balliet Vice Chair: Andrea Johnson Commissioners: Robert Wilson, Phyllis Johnson, Libby Robbins 1. Call Meeting to Order – Meeting called to order at 10:00 AM 2. Roll Call: Bob Balliet, Andrea Johnson, Robert Wilson, Phyllis Johnson, Libby Robbins. Advisor: Monica Lopez – Parks & Recreation. 3. Public Comment: Under Government Code Section 54954.3, members of the audience may address the Commission on any item of interest to the public or any agenda item before or during the Commission's consideration of the item. Speakers shall restrict their comments to issues that are within the subject matter authority of the Commission and limit comments to a maximum of five (5) minutes. Bob read statement. 4. Acceptance of Minutes: NA 5. Presentations: NA 6. Old Business: NA 7. New Business: The Galt Senior Resource Center Protocols – presentation and discussion. (Bob B) – The Commissioners thoroughly discussed and recommended changes, where they thought it appropriate or necessary, with input from Ms. Monica Lopez, Advisor, and came to a consensus on a final version of the original Protocols submitted by Bob B (See attached Revised Protocol), which will be voted on at the Commission’s regular scheduled meeting on Thursday, Oct 27, 2022, and submitted to the city for their perusal, recommendations and/or approval. 8. Commissioners Report: Chair B. Balliet – NA; Vice Chair A. Johnson – donated lab-top to GSRC for use at Bingo Games; Commissioner B. Wilson – Discussed Galt Kabob & Gyro’s possible contribution to Bingo events & asked that the owner be added to the Agenda at our next scheduled COA meeting on Oct 27, 2022, to make a presentation about his products. The Commission’s consensus was that he be added to the Agenda for presentation; Commissioner P. Johnson informed the Commission of her attendance at an Auto show and had asked banks if they had policies favoring Seniors. Commissioner L. Robbins – NA. Liaison M. Lopez advised that ‘Commissioner Report’ are not usually part of a Special Meeting. 9. ADJOURNMENT: Meeting adjourned at 11:30 AM.
