City of Galt AGENDA COMMISSION ON AGING 610 CHABOLLA AVENUE, GALT, CA California Conference Room SPECIAL MEETING Monday, November 7, 2022, at 9:00 AM MINUTES Chairperson: Bob Balliet Vice Chair: Andrea Johnson Commissioners: Robert Wilson, Phyllis Johnson, Libby Robbins 1. Call Meeting to Order 9:00am 2. Roll Call: Bob Balliet (present), Andrea Johnson (absent), Robert Wilson (present), Phyllis Johnson (absent), Libby Robbins(present) . Advisor: Monica Lopez – Parks & Recreation (present); Matthew Malone- Galt Herald 3. Public Comment: Under Government Code Section 54954.3, members of the audience may address the Commission on any item of interest to the public or any agenda item before or during the Commission's consideration of the item. Speakers shall restrict their comments to issues that are within the subject matter authority of the Commission and limit comments to a maximum of five (5) minutes. 4. Acceptance of Minutes: NA 5. Presentations: NA 6. Old Business: NA 7. New Business: SMUD GRANT FUNDING EXPENDITURE Special Event Options - Voting on which option to fund this year 1. Lighting of the Night Senior Dinner (December 3, 2022) – Caterer, Entertainment, Gift Bags 2. Assist with South County Services Luncheon (December 9, 2022) – Dessert and Gift Bags 3. Senior Thanksgiving Luncheon (November 21, 2022) – Caterer, Entertainment, Gift Bags The Commissioners present discussed the three options. Chairperson Balliet made a motion to choose Option #2 and to allow spending for this to not exceed $2,000. Commissioner Wilson seconded the motion (Wilson – aye, Robbins – aye, Balliet – aye). Motion passed. Chairperson Balliet will notify South County Services of the Commission’s desire to help with their Luncheon. Another special meeting will be planned in the next week to coordinate for this event. 8. Commissioners Report: NA 9.
