CITY OF GALT GALT YOUTH COMMISSION MEETING AGENDA 380 CIVIC DRIVE via ZOOM GALT, CALIFORNIA MONDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 2021, 6:00PM Mission Statement - Encourage the youth to participate in activities that are purposeful in building better citizens. - Stimulate community service in Galt - Encourage family participation in building civic unity. - Strive to emphasize the diversity in our culture by encouraging interaction within the community. - Collaborate with organizations devoted to the growth of youth - Recognize that it takes all members of the community to sustain change for the betterment of our youth and families. CORONAVIRUS DISEASE (COVID-19) ADVISORY To protect our constituents, City officials and City staff, the City requests all members of the public to follow the California Department of Health Services’ guidance and the County of Sacramento Public Health Officer Order for the Control of COVID-19 restricting group events and gatherings and maintaining social distancing. Additional information regarding COVID-19 is available on the City’s website at www.ci.galt.ca.us. Consistent with Executive Order N-29-20, the meeting will be held via teleconference/electronically and the City Council will participate via teleconference/electronically. In-person participation by the public will not be permitted and no physical location from which the public may observe the meeting will be available. Galt Youth Commission Scholarship Update Action Item Commissioner Murillo Cuevas will share the 2021 scholarship application. 5. City Council Update Information Item Council Member Farmer will present this month’s city council update. 6. Galt Herald Article Information Item Commissioner Akers will present this month’s article. 7. Community Project: Adopting a Street Information Item Commissioner Cuevas Murillo will provide an update on this project. 8. Community Project: Pen Pals Information Item Commissioner Gold will provide an update on this project. 9. Community Project: Random Acts of Kindness Information Item Commissioner Neuburger will provide an update on this project. 10. Supporting Your Mental Health Information Item Adult Mentor Maaga and Commissioner Rivas will report out on a meeting with Sacramento-area youth leaders on mental health. 11. Galt Youth Commission Recruitment Timelines Information Item Former Adult Mentor Gordon will overview the recruitment process and solicit subcommittee members. 12. Lessons of Leadership Information Item Adult Mentor Klotz will provide this month’s lesson of leadership. 13. Future Agenda Items 14.
