CITY OF GALT GALT YOUTH COMMISSION MEETING AGENDA 380 CIVIC DRIVE via ZOOM GALT, CALIFORNIA MONDAY, March 1st, 2021, 6:00PM Mission Statement - Encourage the youth to participate in activities that are purposeful in building better citizens. - Stimulate community service in Galt - Encourage family participation in building civic unity. - Strive to emphasize the diversity in our culture by encouraging interaction within the community. - Collaborate with organizations devoted to the growth of youth - Recognize that it takes all members of the community to sustain change for the betterment of our youth and families. CORONAVIRUS DISEASE (COVID-19) ADVISORY To protect our constituents, City officials and City staff, the City requests all members of the public to follow the California Department of Health Services’ guidance and the County of Sacramento Public Health Officer Order for the Control of COVID-19 restricting group events and gatherings and maintaining social distancing. Additional information regarding COVID-19 is available on the City’s website at www.ci.galt.ca.us. Consistent with Executive Order N-29-20, the meeting will be held via teleconference/electronically and the City Council will participate via teleconference/electronically. In-person participation by the public will not be permitted and no physical location from which the public may observe the meeting will be available. Galt Teen Center Scaventer Hunt _ ________ Action Item Make a motion that the Youth Commission partner on project presented 5. City Council Update Information Item Mayor Farmer will present this month’s city council update. 6. Galt Herald Article Information Item Commissioner Alexa Murillo Cuevas will present this month’s article. 7. Community Project: Pen Pals Information Item Commissioner Gold will provide an update on this project. 8. Community Project: Random Acts of Kindness Information Item Commissioner Neuburger will provide an update on this project. 9. Youth Mental Health PSA project Action Item Adult Mentors Maaga and Lampson and Commissioners Murillo Cuevas and Sosa will lead a discussion about the sub-committees plans for a PSA to help our youth relieve stress and motion to do the project. 10.
