Meeting held in City Council Chambers

A. CALL MEETING TO ORDER: Joshua Cullers, Chair, called meeting to order at 6:30
P.M.
B. ROLL CALL: Adult Mentors Present: Fjeldstad, King, Lampson, Farmer
Adult Mentors Absent: Goerzen
Youth Members Present: Akers, Bowman (6:31), Brixey, Bulahan, Murillo
Cuevas, Cullers, Jones, Lallian, Ortega, Sandhu
C. PUBLIC COMMENT: N/A
D. PRESENTATIONS:
- Chibew Chungu PH.D from Banyon Tree Skills Academy shared a presentation about
equipping youth with Leadership and how to do so
- Jay Vandenburg shared personal story/lesson about not expecting after giving then gifted
commission the activity “Riddles in the Hill”
E. REGULAR BUSINESS:
1. Icebreaker
Chibwe Chungu PH. D continued presentation
2. Budget Report
Commissioner Jones shared most recent budget report.
3. Approval of minutes for March 4, 2024
Minutes were presented to commission for approval.

4. Senior Technology Project
A location change was requested by subcommittee for Grange Hall.
Moved: Bulahan Second: Ortega Ayes: 10 Nays: 0 Abstain: 0
5. Senior Technology Project
Location for event was decided and time and date were confirmed amongst Commission.
Event was decided to partake on April 25th, 2024 from 11-1pm at Grange Hall.
6. Saturday Market
Tabled.
7. Galt Library Project
Project was dropped because the Galt Library could not provide an Amazon wish list of
books for people to donate, and were more interested in monetary donations.

8. Game Night with Seniors and Teen Center
Mentor Farmer presented updates. Commission decided to partake in event sometime within
the first half of May.

9. Summer Team Building Event
Commission decided to partake in summer team building event during the month of July
doing the activity of Kayaking or scavenger hunt gifted by Jay Vandenburg.

10. Council Update
Mentor Farmer presented council update.
