1. CALL MEETING TO ORDER at 7:06 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL:
a. Commissioners Present: Joe Bitondo, Kelly Keagy, Chris Smith, Janice
Williams
b. Commissioners Absent: Angela DaPrato
3. CHANGES TO THE ORDER OF AGENDA
4. PUBLIC COMMENT: Under Government Code Section 54954.3, members of the
public may address the commission on non-agenda items. Speakers may also
address the commission on any agenda item during consideration of the
item. Speakers shall restrict their comments to issues that are within the subject
matter jurisdiction of the commission and limit comments to a maximum of five (5)
minutes. Please fill out a speaker sheet located on the table inside the entrances
to the council chambers and forward the completed speaker sheet to the
commission secretary. Please state your name and city of residence prior to
making your comments.
5. ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES FOR THE MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 13, 2017.
a. Minutes of the Meeting of September 13, 2017.
• Motion to accept by Chris Smith, all in favor, minutes approved.

• New Location – Returning to Chabolla Center.
• Acknowledgement of Monetary Sponsors – Cal-Waste Recovery
Systems, Conservation Farms & Ranches, SMUD, Cardinal Glass,
Galt Kiwanis, BMD, Kathleen Amos, Sacramento Audubon Society,
Central Valley Joint Ventures & SOS Cranes. In-Kind Sponsors are
Galt Joint Union High School and Elementary School District,
Cosumnes River Preserve and the Galt Herald.
• New Winter Bird Festival event put on by Galt Chamber is the Wine
Beer & Food Tasting on 1/19/18 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. for $15.
• Explore your inner artist at the Winter Bird Festival Wine & Paint also
sponsored by Galt Chamber on 1/19/18 from 6:00-8:30 p.m. for $30.
b. Changes in P&R Staff & Positions
o Special Events Manager position will manage the Galt
Market, will handle all Special Events, and will be a
liaison to Shop Local and Galt Chamber. This position
will be trying to attract tournaments to the city.
Application acceptance closes 1/15/18.
o Armando Morales is the new Parks Supervisor.
o Tanni Watts has resigned her position and has moved
to the City Tots program. This position has been frozen
and is being reviewed during the budget process.
o Recreation is now completely under the supervision of
Monica Lopez.
o Administration (front desk staff) is now under the
supervision of Leslie Sheets.
7. OLD BUSINESS
a. Community Park Playground – Update
• In November the project fell short about $20,000.
• City approved use of other CIP funds to be used from the Galt
Market roofing projects as this is a higher priority.
• In the contract stage, 6-8 weeks after contracts are signed will
receive shipment.
8. NEW BUSINESS
a. Election of Chair – Joe Bitondo nominated by Kelly Keagy, second by Chris
Smith. Call for vote, all in favor.
b. Election of Vice Chair – Kelly Keagy nominated by Janice Williams, call for
vote, all in favor.

9. UPCOMING COUNCIL AGENDA ITEMS
a. Winter Bird Festival
b. Introduction of New Employee Wade Isbell will be presented to City
Council on January 16th.
10. UPCOMING EVENTS
a. Tonn Memorial Ceremony – January 15th
• Being held at (3) event locations this year: deceased area,
memorial at City Hall and a reception at Littleton Center.
• All times for each event are listed on under Galt Police Department
on the website.
b. Galt Chamber’s Wine, Beer & Food Event – January 19th
c. Galt’s Winter Bird Festival – January 20th
11. STAFF COMMENTS No staff comments.
12. COMMISSIONERS REPORTS/COMMENTS
a. Commissioner Bitondo – Winter Bird Festival looks great, glad playground
structure is plugging away.
b. Commissioner DaPrato – Absent.
c. Commissioner Keagy – Good.
d. Commissioner Smith – Any new Christmas decorations for city?
• Per Armando Solis, the Beautification Committee donated $500
for lights.
e. Commissioner Williams – Was approached and asked about the mistle toe
in some of the city trees.
• Per Armando Solis, it depends on where they and if we have
money in the budget. A Plus is contracted with the city to remove
stumps, dead trees, etc. Hoping to enter into a maintenance
agreement or qualified company to provide maintenance long
term starting next fiscal year.
