ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION:
McCune was looking for help from the Police Department regarding traffic I the area of
Wallington and Hamstead. Lt. Kalinowski offered directed traffic enforcement in
that area daily form 1:00pm-4:00pm.
Traffic on Twin Cities Road, and the restricted left turns onto Twin Cities Road continues to
be a topic of discussion. Mr. Lagge advised the “No Left Turn” restrictions from
WalMart onto Fermoy are not being enforced by the PD. Mr. Winkler offered some
insight to the restrictions citing some are actually WalMart’s signs, and the WalMart
has been asked to remove this particular sign. Doak added that allowing straight
across between Raley’s and WalMart would be a good compromise. Singleton
added that the WalMart manager is looking into the legalities on their end
regarding the signage changes. Lagge brought up his concerns regarding the
“Pork Chop” median causing unsafe conditions for those utilizing the bike lane in
that area.
McCune requested information on the number of officers and reserves and an update on
the PD’s hiring status. Lt. Kalinowski advised that we are currently fully staffed on the
sworn side and that we currently have two Reserve Officers and were about to add
a third. Discussion continued regarding different Reserve Officer Levels.
