CITY OF GALT PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES ANTHONY PESCETTI COMMUNITY ROOM 455 INDUSTRIAL DRIVE, GALT, CALIFORNIA MONDAY, January 26, 2015, 6:00 PM Mayor Crews called the meeting to order at 6:00pm. The roll call found Crews, Doak, Lagge, Shelton and Canning present. We saluted the American Flag. The minutes of the last meeting were presented to all members, no changes were recommended. The motion to approve, by Shelton, was seconded by Lagge, the motion carried. ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION: Galt Connect: Mayor Crews encouraged us to use the app and spread the word. Dana will look into putting a message on the utility bills. Marijuana Ordinance: Mayor Crews advised the ordinance had passed and thereby prohibiting the cultivation in Galt. The second reading is scheduled for February 3, 2015. Round Abouts: The arrow template was discussed at length. Gwen explained the templates and the “fishhook” template, agreeing to bring back more “fishhook” information. Collision Data: Dana agreed to bring back more collision data (if available) to the next meeting. ROUND TABLE: Doak asked about the counting hoses on Carillion. Gwen advised that another request for a 4 way stop in relation to the River Oaks 3 Subdivision had been received. Doak advised there are still heavy speeders on South bound Carillion at Vauxhall. Shelton asked about the policy on members as Marylou Powers was not listed on the agenda. Dana apologized, not being aware she should have been added. Kalinowski spoke about the new “Speaker Series” being put on by the Police Department on the 4th Wednesday of each month, encouraging the community to get to know the Police Department. Shelton thought our meetings could perhaps be rescheduled to coincide with this type of event. Dana made note to add the possible change in meeting dates to the agenda for the next meeting. Our next meeting will be at 6:00 PM Monday, March 23, 2015. Meeting was adjourned at 6:23pm.
