Committee of the Whole Meeting
Thursday, March 2nd, 2023 @ 7:00 p.m.
BOARD
MEMBERS 1. Call to Order/Roll Call
Meeting of the Village Board was called to order at 7:00 pm by President

2. Approval of minutes from the Oct. 6th, 2022, meeting.

Trustee Motion by Traskaski/Larson to approve; carried 6-0
Paul Jargstorf 3. Update of 2022/2023 Goals and Objectives.
Trustee The board would like to put emphasis on beautification of the downtown
area, find Genoa City’s Nitsch and start the recodify process.

Jim Krause a. Y&R Tree Donation Opportunity
Trustee
John and Kate spoke of an opportunity a CBS affiliate offered for 50
Pamela Larson- trees, donated in commemoration of the 50th anniversary for ‘The
Trustee Young & The Restless”.

Add CSMs, DPW CDL Training expense and contract, registered
school forest plan.
c. Warming Center
This is already in place at the library.
d. Allowing the use of ATV/UTV within Village Limits with Jakeb Meyer and Del McClure
presenting.
Mr. McClure presented the reasoning for allowing the use of ATVs/UTVs in the Village. Current
and pending local, county, and state laws were discussed. As well as the concerns for speed, safety,
compliance, enforcement, and insurance. The Board is choosing to wait until Walworth County
updates their ordinance in July and discussion will reconvene at the August committee of the whole
meeting.
5. Ongoing Business: (Discussion)
a. School Forest presentation with Ms. Bobula
Ms. Bobula presented on behalf of Brookwood Schools Jt. 2 on the process of registering
Memorial Park as a school forest and designating the area in between Darling Field and
Nippersink Creek as a wetland conservation area. Move to March Board meeting.
6. Ordinance and Resolution Updates
None.
7. Department Head Reports:
• Director of PW Ice storm cleanup went well, crew did a great job.
• Chief of PD New portable radios are in, thank you to the board for their help. Motor vehicle theft update,
solved thanks to Lt. Bappert and Ofc. Recknagel for their hard work. Received emergency hazmat
supplies from the state.
• Clerk Treasurer Farmer’s market and election update.
8. Village President Report
Lost a full-time fire/emt, looking to hire to fill the position. We are looking for a solution to finding
a home for Fishes and Loaves.
9. Adjourn into closed session in accordance with Wisconsin Statue 19.85(1)

10. Adjournment
Motion by Gallo/Traskaski to adjourn at 8:58pm; carried 6-0.
