Special Called Georgetown City Council Meeting Minutes of October 9, 2025 Page 1 of 1 Special Called Georgetown City Council Meeting October 9, 2025 8 am Mayor Jenkins called the Special Called Georgetown City Council meeting to order at 8 am. All members were present except Councilmember Tingle Sames. Mayor Jenkins led the pledge. 1. Minutes A motion to approve the Minutes from the October 1, 2025, Special City Council meeting was made by Councilmember Hampton and seconded by Councilmember Hambrick. The motion was unanimously approved. 2. Event Application – Elizabeth’s Village Annual DVAM Night Market A motion for approval was made by Councilmember Lusby Mitchell and seconded by Councilmember Menke. The motion was unanimously approved. 3. Affordable Housing and Homelessness Prevention – Quarterly Report Affordable Housing and Homelessness Prevention Director Kandice Whitehouse presented information about the impact of the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) and Tenant-Based Rental Assistance (TBRA) grant programs in Georgetown- Scott County to date. Other items discussed in the update were the need for a new building for the low-barrier shelter, the upcoming K-Count, and building relationships with local landlords. Regarding the recent Housing Needs Assessment Report, Director Whitehouse identified various actions listed in the implementation matrix that could help the City Council begin to address affordable housing in the near term. There being no further business, Mayor Jenkins adjourned the meeting at 8:21 am.
