MINUTES OF THE GILBERT TOWN COUNCIL, IN SPECIAL MEETING OF TUESDAY, JUNE 4, 2024 AT 5:00 PM, MUNICIPAL BUILDING I, COMMUNITY ROOM 202, 50 E. CIVIC CENTER DRIVE, GILBERT, ARIZONA COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Brigette Peterson, Vice Mayor Scott Anderson, Councilmembers Bobbi Buchli, Yung Koprowski, Kathy Tilque and Jim Torgeson COUNCIL ABSENT: Councilmember Chuck Bongiovanni STAFF PRESENT: Town Manager Patrick Banger, Town Attorney Christopher Payne, Town Clerk Chaveli Herrera AGENDA ITEM CALL TO ORDER Mayor Peterson called the meeting to order at 5:04 p.m. ROLL CALL Town Clerk Herrera verified a quorum was present. RECESS SPECIAL MEETING AND RECONVENE IN EXECUTIVE SESSION A MOTION was made by Councilmember Buchli, seconded by Councilmember Koprowski, to recess the Special Meeting and reconvene in Executive Session pursuant to: a) A.R.S. §§ 38-431.03(A)(3), (4), discussion or consultation for legal advice and to consider the Town’s position and instruct the Town’s attorneys concerning litigation involving Standard Construction Company, Inc.; and 1 b) A.R.S. §§ 38-431.03(A)(3), (4), discussion or consultation for legal advice and to consider the Town’s position and instruct the Town’s attorneys concerning a contract for professional services with the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce. Motion carried 6-0; Councilmember Bongiovanni was absent at time of vote, arriving at 6:16. 2 ADJOURN EXECUTIVE SESSION AND RECONVENE SPECIAL MEETING A MOTION was made by Councilmember Buchli, seconded by Councilmember Tilque, to adjourn Executive Session and reconvene in Special Meeting. Motion carried 7-0.
