Chelsea of The Brick The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance. Food Vendors: Jenna explained to Chelsea how in the past Sprecher Pub has borrowed and used the Sprecher beer truck. Chelsea said that they can get a refrigerated keg trailer with Miller Lite, Lavanitas, Spotted Cow and Riverwest Stein and that they could do some others as well. Eric mentioned that we have electricity and would prefer to provide the electricity rather than a noisy generator. Steve suggested that the spectacle of the Sprecher truck is nice. Chelsea said this could work, but with the trailer, the trailer company buys back the unsold beer, and she could find out if Sprecher does this too. Mary Lynn said she would contact someone at Sprecher brewery. Chelsea said she would not mind having the truck there in addition to the trailer. It was discussed that we would like beer choices (Sprecher & Miller/other). Chelsea said they could sell burgers, pulled pork sandwiches, veggie burgers, brats/hot dogs, chips. Bethanie texted Jenna during the meeting saying that Yum Yums (ice cream) is in. Jenna explained to Chelsea that we try not to overlap vendors and would it be okay with her if Noodles and Co. came. Chelsea said that would be fine. Chelsea said they need a big grill and they would try to borrow one. Jenna will talk to Shawn to see if the city has one (Marty thought he remembered hearing they had one). Marty will look into whether the Boy Scouts could sell Sprecher soda. Courtney said they could bring a bean-bag set to let people play, but an organized competition won’t work because people don’t want to stay around that long. Page 1 of 1 `` We have Rolling Cones, Chippies, The Brick, Scouts (water, corn, meat sticks), Yum Yums. We discussed whether we want to invite Cheese Curds and/or Noodles & Co. We will ask Cheese Curds, and if they say “no” we will then ask Noodles. We want to make sure that each food vendor pay for their county permits (this should not be a committee expense). Jessica will update the 2019 Food Vendor form and send to Bobbie, Bethanie & Marty. Bobbie/Bethanie will contact Chelsea to make sure she knows about the 10% each food vendor pays to the committee. Layout: Steve projected the aerial photo of last year’s layout and we compared last year’s layout to a proposed layout for this year. We are putting the mega tent just west of the trees west of the parking lot, oriented north- south the long way, with the main stage centered on the east side of the tent. There is a concern that this will “point” amplified music into a residential area, but it was concluded that it’s far enough away and the trees at the west end of the park should help block the noise. The bounce houses will be just north and a bit west of the north end of the megatent. There will be no “small” or community tent. The food vendors and dunk tank will be spread out east to west (dunk tank at west end) just north of the trees at the south end of this area of the park, being careful that the west end of this line not be too close to the softball diamond and the east end of this line not be blocking the “entrance” into this area of the park near the southwest corner of the parking lot. The kids game/activity tables will be west of the mega tent. The Henna tent will be near the bounce houses (because she needs electricity and stays past dark, when she might block views of the fireworks). This layout was approved by the committee unanimously. Budget: Jenna went over the spreadsheet of income and expenses. Marty pointed out that the proposed new bounce house vendor is cheaper than the previous vendor. Jenna will check Brian’s (the bounce house guy) references. The committee likes the proposed budget but will not approve it tonight because the 2018 actual income figures are missing (there are estimates there now). Parade: Marty said we should see if there are Nicolet athletes who could be in the parade. Marty will ask Jessica to contact Kirk (the athletic director at Nicolet). Marty’s dad and brother are seeing if the Shriners can be in the parade. Jenna will talk to Kirk about a freethrow competition. Parking/Traffic: Page 2 of 2 `` Bender Rd. may be under construction in July. The Silver Spring bridge over the river will be under construction this summer. I.T.: Steve could get Glendale Fourth-of-July.org for $10 per year or a gmail for $50 per year. Or we can use the city’s (they have their own domain already). Steve recommends we do the mailboxes option and we can have a link to this on the city’s website. The address would be something like: “Chair@GlendaleWIFourthofJuly.org” or “Membership@GlendaleWIfourthofjuly.org” and then this can be auto forwarded to your personal email. Steve said we could try this for a year and let it expire if we didn’t like it. Mary Lynn said we should talk about this when more people are here. Jenna likes this idea and wants to work with Steve to have a specific, written proposal. Steve said he would work on this. The meeting was adjourned at 8:07 pm. Page 3 of 3
