a. Public Hearing: General Operating Millage Rate for 2024-2025 at 6.4496
Hearing opened at 6:17 p.m. by Walworth
S McCafferty 8122 Fox Hollow- Asked with the millage rate going down, how much tax
revenue will the Village be losing?
Walworth stated the amount would be about $40,000.

b. Public Hearing: 2024-2025 Fiscal Year Operating Budget
Hearing opened at 6:20 p.m. by Walworth
A Keehn 10172 Erie Street- Asked how to obtain a copy of the budget.
Walworth stated that a copy is available at the office.
M Johnson 10025 Gale Road- Stated that even though the millage rate is lower, the tax
amount that the Village will receive is still an increase.
Walworth stated that because of Headlee the Village would have received about $40,000
more in taxes if we didn’t have to lower the interest rate.

a. Set Public Hearing for proposed Truck Route Ordinance
Motion: To set a public hearing for Monday, July 8, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. to consider a
new truck route ordinance with the purpose of the ordinance to regulate the orderly
operation of trucks on the streets of the Village.

b. Resolution 2024-03
Motion: To adopt Resolution 2024-03; Set the 2024-2025 General Operating Millage
Rate at 6.4496.

Motion: To adopt Resolution 2024-04; Adopt 2024-2025 Fiscal Year Budget.

d. Hire DPW Laborer
Motion: To hire Sheldon Townson to fill the vacant position of DPW Laborer
starting wage of $18 an hour with full benefits after 90-Day review wage will be
increased to $19.00 per hour starting June 17, 2024.

Motion: To adopt Resolution 2024-05; Administrator’s wage increase of 4%

Motion: To adopt Resolution 2024-09; Submitting to the Village electors for approval of
the process for determining Council Compensation.

Moore stated that for the record she believes that it should go to the vote of the people. It’s
not that she doesn’t think they deserve a raise, it should come from the vote of the people, not
themselves.

j. MML Annual Dues
Motion: To authorize the payment of MML Michigan Municipal League annual dues in
the amount of $1,112.00.

k. Wade Trim Survey on Park Drive
Motion: To authorize Wade Trim to survey and provide a recommendation for
resurfacing Park Drive apron at the transition from asphalt to gravel not to exceed
$2,500.

l. Code Enforcement Officer
Motion: To authorize the clerk to publish for a Village Code Enforcement Officer.

m. Lions Club Duck Float
Motion: To authorize the Goodrich Lions Club to park their Duck float by the dam, at
the top of the hill, in the turn-a-round, where the Century Tel Building is located on
August 2-3, 2024.

n. Tree Removal
Motion: To authorize the DPW to accept quote to remove four dead trees, including
clean up and grinding of the stumps at the cost of $8,400.

Motion: To authorize the DPW to purchase a Masterforce 72”x24”, blue, 15 drawers,

A) SET PUBLIC HEARING MONDAY, JULY 8, 2024 AT 6:00 P.M. TO CONSIDER TRUCK ROUTE ORDINANCE;
THE PURPOSE OF THIS ORDINANCE IS TO REGULATE THE ORDERLY OPERATION OF TRUCKS ON THE
STREETS OF THE VILLAGE.
B) ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 2024-03; SET THE 2024-2025 GENERAL OPERATING MILLAGE RATE 6.4496.
C) ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 2024-04; ADOPT 2024-2025 FISCAL YEAR BUDGET.
D) CONSIDER HIRING OF SHELDON TOWNSON TO FILL THE VACANT POSITION OF DPW LABORER STARTING
WAGE OF $18.00 PER HOUR WITH FULL BENEFITS AFTER 90-DAY REVIEW WAGE WILL INCREASE TO
$19.00 PER HOUR.
