Leisure & Rec Committee Meeting Minutes
The Village Leisure & Rec Committee met on Wednesday, September 10 at 1:00 p.m.
in the Village Board room, 316 Brad St S, Grantsburg, WI 54840.

Trustee John Addison

Chairman Janke called the Leisure & Rec Committee Meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. The Pledge of
Allegiance was recited.
Campground Update
Village staff reported the campground expansion, James N. McNally Campground West is now open
and taking reservations despite a few details that need completion including an entrance sign and
runoff repair that is being completed by the contractor. The committee discussed online reservation
options still in the works, advertising during the off season, and placing a portage sign at the point of
river access.
Campground – 2026 rates and rules
Village staff reviewed the current rates for both campgrounds and reviewed history of rate increases.
The committee recommended to remove tent reservations at the main campground now that tent
specific sites are available in the west campground. They also recommended that sites in the main
campground be rented to seasonal and monthly occupants first. The committee agreed to keep rates
at the west campground the same for 2026. Discussion continued for possible rate increases at the
main campground.
Motion by Trustee Addison, second by Trustee Campeau to recommend the Village Board
increase rates at the main campground as follows: seasonal regular site $1900, seasonal river
site $2100, monthly $800 and weekly $300. Motion carried unanimously.
The committee reviewed the existing seasonal campground agreement. Village staff indicated issues
this season relating to site maintenance, pets, and UTV/ATV traffic. The committee discussed
changes to sections 5, 6, and 7.
Motion by Trustee Addison, second by Chairman Janke to recommend the Village Board approve
the new seasonal camping agreement with suggested updates. Motion carried unanimously.
Pool – 2026 rates
The committee requested to see comparison for the effect of the new splashpad on pool financials.
They also discussed any potential rate increases.
Motion by Trustee Addison, second by Chairman Janke to keep pool rates the same for the 2026
season. Motion carried unanimously.
2026 Budget suggestions
Clerk/Treasurer Meyer reviewed the budget process and asked Trustees to bring suggestions to
department heads by the end of September as she plans to have a draft budget for Village Board
review at the October board meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:01 p.m.
