CITY COUNCIL MEETING OCTOBER 11, 2021 The Greenville City Council convened in the Council Chamber of City Hall on Monday, October 11, 2021, at 5:30 p.m. for a regular Council meeting. Mayor Dexter McLendon called the meeting to order. City Clerk – Treasurer Dee Blackmon called the roll and recorded the following members present: Mayor McLendon, Councilmembers Bryan Reynolds, Ed Sims, and Joseph West. Councilmember Jae’Ques Brown and Boris Thigpen was absent. Mayor McLendon led those attending in the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag. Assistant Police Chief Anthony Barganier delivered the invocation. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Mayor McLendon advised each councilmember had received for review a copy of the proposed minutes for the Regular Council Meeting held on September 27, 2021. He asked if there were any additions, deletions or amendments to the minutes as presented. Councilmember Sims moved to dispense with the reading of the minutes and approve the minutes for September 27, 2021, as drafted . Councilmember West seconded the motion. Mayor McLendon announced the motion carried with a unanimous vote of the Council. NEW BUSINESS: APPROVAL OF EXPENDITURES: Councilmember Reynolds made a motion to approve the following expenditures: JDM SERVICES - $3,185.00 BUDGETED ITEM RESTORATION & REPAIRS TO SECTION A & B OF PIONEER CEMETERY Councilmember Sims seconded the motion. Mayor McLendon announced the motion passed with unanimous vote of the Council. OTHER BUSINESS: BOARD APPOINTMENT WEED AND DEBRIS VIOLATIONS: STATE OF ALABAMA VACANT LOT E PARMER ACROSS FROM BUTLER CHAPEL 10 08 06 23 1 008 034.000 2010 TAX SALE PAYNE LILLIAN Councilmember West moved to proceed to the next step of compliance for weed and debris violations pursuant to the City’s Code of Ordinances, and thereby authorize properties to be cleared at the owners ’ expense and the City Clerk to bill property owner for services. Councilmember Reynolds seconded the motion. Mayor McLendon announced the motion carried with a unanimous vote of the Council. ANNOUNCEMENTS AND ADJOURNMENT: Mayor McLendon announced the next council meeting will be held Monday October 25, 2021.
