Police Committee 07/19 @ 6:00 PM Records Committee 11/01 @ 6:30 PM Fire Board 08/01 @ 7:00 PM Ambulance Board 08/08 @ 7:00 PM Committee Reports: The Police Committee met at 6:00 PM tonight and discussed the purchasing of a new cruiser. Police Chief Dorsey will be checking in on getting pricing for a new vehicle. Also, there will be a new resolution coming soon for the hiring of a new full time police officer. The next Police Committee will meet on August 2nd, 2016 at 6:30 PM. The Tree Committee will meet on August 2nd, 2016 at 6:00 PM. Zoning Inspector: 12 permits will need to be addressed to residents who have failed to acquire to get a permit before they put pools up. Some are a real danger to children’s safety. Either fences will need to be put up or the ladders will need to be removed for the safety of others. Mr. Inmon will get a list of the residents who have failed to comply with the zoning laws and will have Police Chief Dorsey drop them off. Mr. Inmon also stated that the gun raffle for the Greenwich Improvement Group went smooth. Greenwich, Ohio 44837 (419) 752-2441 The Zoning Board will meet September 7th, 2016 @ 6:00 PM. Mayor Sallee, also stated that legislation is being drafted about the semi-truck parking and that this legislation will need to be gone over. Police Chief’s Report: Police Chief Dorsey stated that the festival went great with no major problems. A special thanks to the gentlemen who was playing in one of the softball tournaments at the festival, as Officer Tenore was chasing a suspect and the ball player ended up tackling the suspect who had ran across the field. Chief Dorsey also addressed the results of the committee meeting about getting more prices on a new vehicle and acquiring legislation on hiring a new full time officer. Councilman Lloyd asked about a silver van that is parked behind the abandoned grocery store, Officer Dorsey stated that the van would be given the 20 day process of getting the van removed due to not having a valid license plate. Mr. Inmon stated that is in on private property but without valid plates it can be taken care of. Administrator’s Report: Administrator Giles handed out his report stating: Water: The water service is repaired on Seminary St. A fire hydrant on Main St. needs to be inspected due to the possibility that is has been struck by a vehicle. Water samples for lead and copped will take place this week as well as next week. The Consumer Confidence Report was submitted to the EPA for 2015. It was posted online, at the public library, in the lobby at Village Hall, and on the June Utility Bills. Wastewater: Seminary Street surveying will continue for the rest of the year. Meetings will take place with the engineers to go over design plans. Electric: The substation kicked out the breakers, the storm is suspected to be the cause. The electric customers have seen a slight increase due to the transmission charges, it mainly effects the industries. Last month’s PCA rate was .0216/kwh, even though June’s report shows a decrease in the cost the three month rolling average holds July’s PCA rate at .0204/kwh. Other: The Utility crew started laying hot patch on the roads, even today they laid 6 tons. Tile was installed in the park to stop the walking path gravel from being washed out. Boom mowing throughout the town was completed. Recommendations for September is to apply for a grant to help with the paving of Townsend Street between Main and just north of the underpass. The large tube slide in the park has been replaced and sections of the cemetery fence that the committee requested to be realigned must wait until the ground is softer. The ODOT road salt contract came in at $35.00 dollars a ton and the Utility Truck has been ordered and will take 4 to 6 weeks to arrive. The Utility crews have been working on removing dead trees and trimming others. Solicitor’s Report: Attorney Palmer stated that he has been working with the Village Administrator concerning legal issues with creating a new sewer ordinance on shutting the water off at the resident’s homes if they fail to comply with the septic tank inspections. He is also working with Virgil on drafting a new utility ordinance.
