Absence: N/A Council met in regular session with additional members present: Mayor Wes Sallee, Police Chief Steve Dorsey, Administrator Virgil Giles, Council Clerk, Betty Inmon, Solicitor Palmer and Zoning Inspector, Cles Inmon Visitors: N/A Clerks Report: N/A Bovia move to accept the minutes of the May 2, 2017 Council Meeting, Shoemaker second. Vote as follows: Phillips Yes, Lloyd Yes, King Yes, Bovia Yes, Wilson Yes, Shoemaker Yes. Shoemaker moved to accept the invoices in amount of $153,621.08, Wilson second; Vote as follows: King Yes, Phillips Yes, Wilson Yes, Shoemaker Yes, Bovia Yes, and Lloyd Yes. Committee Mtgs. Ambulance Board 06/12 @ 7:00 PM Cemetery Board 06/20 @ 5:15 PM Fire Board 06/05 @ 7:00 PM Park Committee 06/06 @ 5:15 PM Police Committee 06/06 @ 6:00 PM Records Committee 11/07 @ 6:30 PM Administrator’s Report: Administrator updated council on his departments. He is doing preventive maintenance for water, waiting on contractor to schedule Maple Street Water tower, Community Development Block Grant is in process for paving S. Railroad Street from 224 to Library. Full report filed with clerk. Police Chief’s Report: Chief introduced Daniel Rufner to Council; Daniel will begin working for the department as Auxiliary Patrolman. Crime is on the up rise since warmer weather is here. He also reported that Sharpnack Ford from Willard has purchased a 2017 cruiser with 1000 miles; Chief was ask to bring to police committee meeting. Zoning Inspector: Inmon issued 2 zoning permits; swimming pools are going up and Permits are needed. Greenwich, Ohio 44837 (419) 752-2441 Mayor’s Report: Mayor showed a brief video of Police dealing with Fentanyl and heroin. The consequence of use is deadly and our police are in grave danger when finding at time of arrest. Just the dust in air is deadly substance. Council Discussion: Bovia discussed the danger of police cars the department has been using. Per Mayor, council is aware of the facts and will take further in Police committee. Unfinished Business: Lloyd move to have Second reading of Ordinance 2017-07 by title only, Wilson second. Vote as follows: Bovia Yes, Wilson Yes, King Yes, Phillips Yes, and Lloyd Yes, Shoemaker Yes AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 301.02 OF THE GREENWICH ZONING ORDINANCE CODIFIED IN APPENDIX A OF SECTION 1261.01 ZONING REGULATGIONS OF THE GREENWICH CODIFIED ORDINANCES. New Business: Phillips move to have First reading of Resolution 2017-R-06 by title only, Wilson second. Vote as follows: Bovia Yes, Wilson Yes, King Yes, Phillips Yes, and Lloyd Yes, Shoemaker Yes A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE TO ENTER INTO A WRITTEN AGREEMENT ESTABLISHING A COUNTY WIDE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY AND FOR EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SERVICES AND SELECTING A REPRESENTATIVE TO THE COUNTYWIDE ADVISOR GROUP Wilson move to approve Executive Order 2017-EO-01. Shoemaker second.
