Steve Dorsey, Zoning Inspector Cles Inmon, and Utility/Tax Clerk Jennifer
Meyer.
Clerks Report: N/A
Lloyd moved to accept the minutes of July 3, 2018, R. Wilson seconded. Vote

Shoemaker moved to accept the invoices in amount of $35,673.17, Phillips

Visitor’s Addressing Council: Gayle Bovia wanted to give thanks to the police
and fire department for their help with the clean up after this year’s festival also
updated council on the order forms for the pavers at the Veterans Memorial Park.
There are only 15 spaces and they are 8 x 8, forms are located throughout
businesses in the village, available till September.

Administrator’s Report: N/A
Police Chief’s Report: Chief reports that the festival was best festival yet with
only 1 traffic incident, softball tournaments went great as well with 16 teams
playing. Chief would like to make note that 2 of his cruisers have serious
mechanical issues as well as having high mileage. Would like to get rid of 2
cruisers and purchase 1 new cruiser on payments. Also an update on the motor
home behind the bar, the gentleman just started a new job and is looking for a

place to live and hopefully will be moving the motor home shortly. Chief will await
advice from council on what further action to take.
Zoning Inspector: Cles turned in money for a zoning permit.
Solicitor’s Report: Attorney Palmer is working on violations for junk cars and
obnoxious weeds on S. Kniffin St.
Mayor’s Report: The Mayor expressed is thanks to the Police and Fire
Department for a successful 2018 firemen’s festival.
Council Discussion: Councilman Travis Wilson spoke about the police
committee meeting held earlier and how he is open to having further discussions
on figuring out how to bring in more revenue for the police department for laptops
and training. Looking into school board annexation might be a start and he will
look into finding stats and stipends
.
