Greenwood Council Meeting Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 6:00pm Council Chambers The meeting was called to order by Mayor Hansen. Roll call- Schecklman, Ashbeck, Jordan, and Nelson all present. Also present Clerk/ Treasurer Kayla Schar, Attorney Bonnie Wachsmuth, Public Works Director Eddie Herrick, and Utility Director Trent Johnson. New Business: 1. Nelson motioned to approve the hiring of Robert Lenz and Abby Rowen to the Street Department. Schecklman seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried. 2. Schecklman motioned to hire Steve Travis to stain the bandstand at George Scherer Park. Ashbeck seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried. 3. Nelson motioned to approve the Class “B” Fermented Malt Beverage License for Greenwood Softball Association. Ashbeck seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried. 4. Discussion was made regarding a future transmission line boring on the County bridge. Due to the line not being used for over 20 years and not having the funds Schar and Johnson recommended to council to not pursue the boring and piping on the bridge. Ashbeck motioned to not consider the future piping and boring on the County Bridge at this time and to leave the project as is. Schecklman seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried. 5. Discussion was made on the Library Board Member seat. It was explained that an oversight was made as the seat was to be reappointed in January. After discussion, Hoeper indicated that she was resigning from the Library Board. Hansen thanked Hoeper for her service on the Library Board and appointed Cheri Smith for the 2022-2024 term. Jordan motioned to approve the appointment. No second to the motion. Motion failed. Hansen appointed Barb Ashbeck to the Library Board. Nelson motioned to approve the appointment. Schecklman seconded the motion. Nelson and Schecklman voted ayes. Jordan did not vote. Ashbeck abstained. Motion carried. 6. Nelson motioned to adjourn. Schecklman seconded the motion. All ayes.
