Greenwood Council Meeting
Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 6:00pm
Council Chambers
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Hansen. Roll call- Schecklman, Ashbeck, Jordan, and Nelson all present.
Also present Clerk/ Treasurer Kayla Schar, Attorney Bonnie Wachsmuth, Public Works Director Eddie Herrick, and
Utility Director Trent Johnson.
New Business:
1. Ashbeck motioned to approve the committees as presented. Jordan seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion
carried.
2. Schecklman motioned to purchase a dehumidifier from William Reid for $2,500. Ashbeck seconded the
motion. All ayes. Motion carried.
3. Nelson motioned to approve CMAR resolution 7-22. Schecklman seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion
carried.
4. Schecklman motioned to establish a fee for lawn mowing as follows:
a. First Offense- 5-day warning if the parcel is not mowed by the stated day the Street Department will
mow the parcel for a fee of $100.
b. Second and Subsequent Offenses- The Street Department will mow the parcel once it is out of
compliance with ordinance 8-1-6 Length of Lawn and Grasses and the City will bill the owner $250
each time.
c. Repeat Offenders- A 5-day warning will be given once annually. If compliance is not met within the
5-day period a $250 fee will be charged each additional occurrence.
d. Any damages to equipment will be billed to the parcel owner.
Ashbeck seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried.
5. Ashbeck motioned to approve the amendment for engineering costs up to $75,000 with Morgan and Parmley
for the transmission line project. Schecklman seconded the motion. 3 ayes, Nelson abstained, motion carried.
6. Schecklman motioned to place bids out for materials for Linda Blvd as recommended by Public Works
committee. Bids will be opened at City Hall on July 1, 2022 at 10:00am and will be awarded by Council on
July 6th at 6:00pm during the monthly council meeting. Nelson seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion
carried.
7. Nelson motioned accept the recommendation from the Public Works committee to add the 1st block of W
Miller (Main to Hendren) to the CDBG Grant. Schecklman seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried.
8. Nelson motioned to accept the recommendation from the Public works committee that the City will do their
own sidewalk repairs for 2022 and repair curb/ gutter and place an 8’ apron at 106 S Crocker. Schecklman
seconded the motion. 3 ayes, Ashbeck abstained. Motion carried.
9. Schecklman motioned to accept the recommendation from the Public works committee to have the 2000
Dump truck bed repaired and relined at Nolt Welding and Repair with costs up to $7,000. Ashbeck seconded
the motion. All ayes. Motion carried.
10. Nelson motioned to open sealed bids up for the 2006 F-150 as recommended by Public Works committee.
Bids will be opened at City Hall on July 1, 2022 at 10:30am and will be awarded by Council on July 6 th at
6:00pm during the monthly council meeting. Jordan seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried.
11. Schecklman motioned to approve the purchase of new screens for the treatment plant up to $65,000 as
recommended by the Public Works committee. Ashbeck seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried.
12. The replacement of the roof at the treatment plant was discussed. Council would like to see quotes prior to
approval. No motions made.
13. Nelson motioned to adjourn. Ashbeck seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried.
