Two months ago Madison Township went out to bid but the prices came back too high. The bid went out a second time with prices going down a little. The current rate on the contract is 1.0565. The Township was able to lock in with a new company at a rate of 1.0494, thus giving some savings to the residents. Everything else remains the same: there are no costs for early termination, no costs if a resident wants to join the program later and it is a fixed rate for 33 months rather than the previous 24 month period. The new rate will go into effect in March 2019 and is with Volunteer. Post cards will be sent out to residents with information on the both the electric and gas, also with Volunteer, aggregation programs. VII.
