HAYES TOWNSHIP December 18, 2023 UNAPPROVED MINUTES Supervisor Jones called the General Meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. at the Hayes Township Hall, 2055 E. Townline Lake Road. Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Members present – Supervisor Jones, Trustee Buckley, Trustee Teall, Treasurer Rood, and Clerk Hoyt Members absent - None Motion Teall/Rood to approve agenda. All Ayes, motion carried. Public Comment on agenda (The Hayes Township Board allows 3 minutes per person for public comment) Community Reports • Yeo & Yeo, Audit Report • County Commissioner • Clare County Road Commission Motion Teall/Rood to approve December 11, 2023 General Board meeting minutes. Roll call vote: Jones – aye, Buckley – aye, Teall – aye, Rood – aye, Hoyt – aye. Resolution 23-07 is adopted. Motion Rood/Teall to approve MiDeal membership renewal in the amount of $180.00. All Ayes, motion carried. Motion Rood/Buckley to approve IRS standard mileage rate for 2024 at .67 a mile. All Ayes, motion carried. Motion Hoyt/Teall to renew Contract with the County for Ordinance Enforcement, for one (1) year, contingent on the County agreeing to renew and the revision of the Protocol to address the concerns that the county and township have. Motion Teall/Rood to approve purchase of mobile phones for board members - $321.76 month (1st year) and $346.76 (2nd and 3rd years) and one-time $99 installation fee. Motion Hoyt/Rood to establish a Township Hall and Public Property Safety Policy and to appoint the Building Committee to work with the township attorney on preparing the policy. Motion Teall/Rood to reappoint Jim Neff to Zoning Board of Appeals, term to expire 12/20/26. 4 Ayes, 1 Nay. Motion carried.
