HAYES TOWNSHIP March 12, 2024 UNAPPROVED MINUTES Supervisor Jones called the General Meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. at the Hayes Township Hall, 2055 E. Townline Lake Road. Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Members present – Supervisor Jones, Trustee Buckley, Trustee Teall, Treasurer Rood, and Clerk Hoyt Members absent - None Motion Teall/Buckley to approve agenda with the addition of road discussion, budget discussion and nonconforming webinar request. All Ayes, motion carried. Public Comment on agenda (The Hayes Township Board allows 3 minutes per person for public comment) Community Reports • County Commissioner • Lake Boards Motion Teall/Hoyt to approve the February 29, 2024, general meeting minutes. All Ayes, motion carried. Motion Rood/Buckley approve bills to be paid. All Ayes, motion carried. Department Reports • Supervisor • Treasurer • Clerk • Trustee New Business Motion Hoyt/Teall to approve STT Security agreement for the August 6 and November 5, 2024, elections - $1,101.00 (these will be in next fiscal year’s budget). All ayes, motion carried. Motion Hoyt/Teall to allow Zoning Administrator and invited Planning Commission members to attend the Michigan Association of Planners (MAP) Nonconformities webinar in the amount of $110. All ayes, motion carried. Discussion items • Brine SAD district – revise district to include missing partials, discuss partial assessments for those not fronting a gravel road, set date for public hearing. • Budget amendment discussion • Road contract discussion Public Comment – questions were taken and answered.
