Meeting Called to Order A meeting of Harrisonburg Parks & Recreation Advisory Commission was held on Monday, November 9, 2020 at 7 p.m. via GoToMeeting. Kevin Gibson called the meeting to order with the following commission members present: Sandra Bopp, MuAwia DaMes, Chance Ebersold, Kevin Gibson, Obie Hill, James Logan, and Mayor Deanna Reed. Present from Parks and Recreation: Luanne Santangelo and Connie Lawson. Present from City Manager’s office: Pam Ulmer. I Welcome - Kevin Gibson welcomed everyone and called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. II Approval of October 19, 2020 Meeting Minutes - James Logan made a motion to approve the minutes. Sandra Bopp seconded the motion. All members voted in favor of approving the October 19, 2020 minutes. III. Director’s Report - Luanne Santangelo provided a written report to Advisory Commission members. V. Action Items - a. Event Attendance. Support of Holiday Events and upcoming programs and activities. Dance and Fitness Programs will be held at Simms Center to allow for social distancing. b. There have been sixteen applicants for Reverse Holiday Parade. Still taking applications. c. Tree Lighting will be done in advance and hoping to incorporate video of the JMU Band. VI. General Public Comments - Comments were not received. VII. Next PRAC Meeting - No December Meeting. Next PRAC Meeting will be held January 11, 2021 February Meeting will be held February 8, 2021. VIII. Adjourn - The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 p.m. 2.
