Meeting Called To Order A meeting of Harrisonburg Parks & Recreation Advisory Commission was held on Monday, February 8, 2021 at 7 p.m. via GoToMeeting. Kevin Gibson called the meeting to order with the following commission members present: Sandra Bopp, MuAwia DaMes, Chance Ebersold, Kevin Gibson, Obie Hill, James Logan, Mayor Deanna Reed, and Carol Mills-Rooker. Present from Parks and Recreation: Luanne Santangelo and Scott Erickson. I Welcome - Kevin Gibson welcomed everyone and called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. II Approval of January Meeting Minutes-Chance Ebersold motioned to approve the minutes. Sandra Bopp seconded the motion. All members present voted in favor of approval. III Director’s Report -Luanne Santangelo provided a written report to Advisory Commission members. IV Additional items: a. Application to the Department of Historic Resources has been submitted for the historical marker for Lucy F. Simms. b. Recreation staff are in the process of developing a program plan for Spring. Details will be shared once finalized. V Event Attendance & Advocacy Opportunities: a. The 2021 Shamrock Virtual Trail Run will take place between the dates of March 17th-20th. Additional information and registration information can be found at www.harrisonburgva.gov/shamrock-trail-run. b. VRPS Annual Conference in October 2021 at Hotel Madison. If held in-person there is a potential for participation to assist with implementation by PRAC. VIII. General Public Comments - None received. VIIII. Next PRAC Meeting - March 15, 2021 @ 7p.m. X.
