Meeting Called to Order A meeting of Harrisonburg Parks & Recreation Advisory Commission was held on Monday, March 15, 2021 at 7 p.m. via GoToMeeting. Kevin Gibson called the meeting to order with the following commission members present: Sandra Bopp, MuAwia DaMes, Chance Ebersold, Kevin Gibson, Obie Hill, James Logan, Deanna Reed and Carol Mills-Rooker. Present from Golf Business Advisors: Jeff Fleishman. Present from Boys & Girls Club of Harrisonburg: Sandra Quigg. Present from Parks and Recreation: Luanne Santangelo and Connie Lawson. I Welcome - Kevin Gibson welcomed everyone and called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. II. Approval of February Meeting Minutes-MuAwia DaMes motioned to approve the minutes. Carol Mills-Rooker seconded the motion. All members present voted in favor of approving the February 8, 2021 minutes. III, HOGC Financial Analysis Status Report-Jeff Fleishman of Golf Business Advisors gave a presentation on the progress of the HOGC Financial Analysis Report. IV. BGCHR-Grant Support Letter-Sandra Quigg of the Boys & Girls Club of Harrisonburg gave a presentation to the Commission requesting support for a grant application focusing on tobacco cessation and youth advocacy. V. Lucy F. Simms Historical Marker-Status-Mayor Deanna Reed advised the Commission on the status of the Lucy F. Simms Historical Marker. VI. Director’s Report -Luanne Santangelo provided a written report to Advisory Commission members. VII. Event Attendance & Advocacy Opportunities-The 2021 Shamrock Virtual Trail Run will take place between the dates of March 17th-20th. General Public Comments - Two comments were received regarding the Smithland Dog Park. VIIII. Next PRAC Meeting - April 19, 2021 Commission Meeting changed to Ralph Sampson Park at 5pm. X.
