RESOLUTION NO. ___________ A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE HASLET COMMUNITY & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION, A TYPE B ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION, RECOMMENDING FUNDING FOR A PROJECT, TO WIT: A SURFACE-MOUNTED 10-FOOT CABANA BENCH WITH CANOPY FOR THE TENNIS COURTS LOCATED AT THE HASLET COMMUNITY PARK; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the Haslet Community & Economic Development Corporation (“HCEDC”) is a Type B economic development corporation authorized to spend sales tax funds for certain municipal projects, principally infrastructure, public parks, and other community and/or recreation purposes pursuant to the Economic Development Corporation Act (the “Act”); and WHEREAS, Section 4.05 of the HCEDC bylaws require the HCEDC Board of Directors (the “Board”) to adopt a resolution in conjunction with adopting a project under the Act; and WHEREAS, the Board finds the installation of a 10-foot cabana bench with canopy situated at the tennis courts located at the Haslet Community Park (“the Project”) to be an eligible project under the Act and agrees to provide funding for said project in the amount provided for herein and seeks City Council approval to proceed with said Project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE HASLET COMMUNITY & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION, THAT: 1. The statements set forth in the recitals of this Resolution are true and correct, and the HCEDC Board hereby incorporates such recitals as a part of this Resolution. 2. The Project, a surface mounted 10-foot cabana bench with canopy for the tennis courts located at the Haslet Community Park, as further detailed in Exhibits A and B, attached hereto, is hereby approved by the Board. 3. The Board hereby authorizes expending funds in the amount of Five Thousand Eight Hundred Sixty-Three Dollars ($5,863.00) plus a contingency amount of Six Hundred Dollars ($600) for a total cost of Six Thousand Four Hundred Sixty-Three Dollars ($6,463) (“Total Project Cost”). 4. The Board hereby understands that it may not undertake this project if, not later than the 60th day after the date notice of the specific project or general type of project is first published, the governing body of the authorizing municipality receives a petition from more than 10 percent of the registered voters of the municipality requesting that an election be held before the specific project or general type of project is undertaken. 6.
