Notice is hereby given of a Regular Meeting of the Haslet Parks and Recreation Board to be held on
Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 6:00 PM, at the Haslet Community Center, 105 Main Street.

1. CALL TO ORDER AND ANNOUNCE A QUORUM PRESENT
2. CITIZENS PARTICIPATION AND COMMENTS
An opportunity for citizens to address the Board on matters which are on the agenda
or are not scheduled for consideration (non-agenda items). The Texas Open Meetings
Act prohibits deliberation by the Board of any subject which is not on the posted
agenda, therefore the Board will not be able to discuss or take action on items not
listed on this agenda, other than to make statements of specific factual information or
to recite existing policy in response to the inquiry. NOTE: In order to address the
Board during this time, or later in the meeting for any item that is scheduled on
the agenda, please complete, and submit a speaker card to City Secretary prior
to the start of the meeting. The presiding officer may ask the speaker to hold
comments on agenda items until that agenda item is reached.
3. ITEMS OF COMMUNITY INTEREST
Any expressions of thanks, congratulations, or condolence; information regarding
holiday schedules; honorary recognitions of city officials, employees or citizens;
reminders about upcoming events sponsored by the city or other entity that is to be
attended by a city official or employee; and announcements involving imminent threats
to the public health and safety.
3.A. The City of Haslet General Election will be held Saturday, May 3, 2025 from
7am to 7pm for the purpose of electing the Office of the Mayor, Council
Member Place 2, and Council Member Place 4.
The Early Voting Period for the May 3, 2025 General Election will be
Tuesday, April 22, 2025 to Tuesday, April 29, 2025. As the election
approaches, specific polling places will be published in accordance with
state law.
3.B. The Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 4:00 pm 4-5
at the Community Park

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The Parks and Recreation Board By Laws include as an official policy, that a Community Service Award be
given for outstanding service or contribution in promoting the cause of parks and recreation by an individual,
organization or corporation.
The Board voted unanimously at the January 8, 2025 meeting, to select Nancy Garner for her generous
contribution to the Annual Christmas in the Park Event, as Mrs. Claus

Board Chair Nembu called the meeting to order and announced a quorum present at 6:00
pm.

place on the May 3, 2025 General Election ballot until 5pm on Friday, February 14,
2025. The Office of Mayor, Council Member Place 2, and Council Member Place 4 will
be on the ballot.
