STATED TOWN BOARD MEETING MARCH 20, 2018 The Town Board of the Town of Hempstead, New York, met at the Town Meeting Pavilion, Hempstead Town Hall, 1 Washington Street, Hempstead, New York, on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. Roll was called: PRESENT: LAURA A. GILLEN, Supervisor EDWARD A. AMBROSINO, Councilman BRUCE BLAKEMAN, Councilman ANTHONY P. D'ESPOSITO, Councilman DENNIS DUNNE, SR., Councilman DOROTHY L. GOOSBY, Senior Councilwoman Members of the Town Board ABSENT: ERIN KING SWEENEY, Councilwoman ALSO PRESENT: SYLVIA A. CABANA, Town Clerk DOLORES SEDACCA, Deputy Town Clerk JOSEPH J. RA, Town Attorney KEVIN CONROY, Town Comptroller Supervisor Gillen asked Councilman Dunne to lead the assemblage in the Pledge of Allegiance to our flag. Supervisor Gillen was joined by Councilman Dunne to honor Coach Paul Schmitt of Nassau Community College along with his team. Coach Schmitt has had nine National Wrestling Team Championships, was named District Coach of the year sixteen times, and inducted to the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. Councilman Dunne also recognized Coach Schmitt, as being a mentor at Coach Associations Leadership Academy, an invitation bestowed on only a few coaches in the entire nation.
