STATED TOWN BOARD MEETING .AUGUST 6, 2019 The Town Board of the Town of Hempstead, New York, met at the Town Meeting Pavilion, Hempstead Town Hall, 1 Washington Street, Hempstead, New York, on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at 10:30A.M. ,- 1 Roll was called: PRESENT: LAURA A. GILLEN, Supervisor BRUCE BLAKEMAN, Councilman ANTHONY P. D'ESPOSITO, Councilman DENNIS DUNNE, SR., Councilman DOROTHY L. GOOSBY, Senior Councilwoman THOMAS A. MUSCARELLA, Councilman ERIN KING SWEENEY, Councilwoman Members of the Town Board ALSO PRESENT: SYLVIA A. CABANA, Town Clerk GASPARE TUMMINELLO, Deputy Town Clerk JOSEPH J. RA, Town Attorney MICHAEL J. CAPOBIANCO, Acting Deputy Town Comptroller The Town Board recognized exemplary Lynbrook High School students and faculty who competed in the "Intel International Science and Engineering Fair" in Arizona last month. The Fair is a program for the society of science and the public, which included about eighteen hundred students from four hundred and twenty three offiliate fairs in more than eighty counties competing. for about five million dollers worth of prizes. Kalie Hausknecht earned first place in the physics category and took home the prestigious best in category award for physics and astronomy. The science team including students mentioned: Juliana Condoleo; Alyssa Burton; Kai Beattie; Kyle Schneider; Jason Sitt; Danny Neri; Pooja Shah; Jason Shao and Teachers: David Shanker and Superintendant Dr. Burak. Supervisor Gillen achnowledged their hard work and dedication and presented them with a congratulatory sign and citation. A Moment of Silence was observed for the victims who were lost in the mass shootings this weekend and in memory of former County Executive and former Town Supervisor Tom Gulotta.
