STATED TOWN BOARD MEETING NOVEMBER 12, 2019 The Town Board of the Town of Hempstead, New York, met at the Town Meeting Pavilion, Hempstead Town Hall, 1 Washington Street, Hempstead, New York, on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. LONGOBARDI, Second Deputy Comptroller Supervisor Gillen along with members of the Town Board honored Barbara Epstein, Ruth Jones, Paula Blum, Patricia Meadows, Liz Boylan and Town of Hempstead's own member Senior Councilwoman Dorothy Goosby, all of whom are here today representing the "New York State League of Woman Voters". Supervisor Gillen along with the rest of the Town Board presented them with a th citation and proclamation. She went on to mention that the league will be celebrating its 100 Anniversary one week from today. As·pioneers during the Women's Suffrage Movement, this league established itself as a leading advocate fot voting rights for all Americans and by remaining non- partisan this league is able to extend its reach by informing and educating the public on the critical issues that are affecting their communities. Supervisor Gillen thanked these ladies on behalf of the Town of Hempstead, congratulated the league for achieving this historic milestone also stating gratefulness for their service to our community and state. Supervisor Gillen asked Councilman Dunne to lead the assemblage in the Pledge of Allegiance to our flag.
