All present participated in the Pledge NEW HYDE PARK of Allegiance. STEWART MANOR The minutes of June 25, Andrew Weiss 2018 were presented for approval. Motion made by Kurt Langjahr, seconded by Andrew Weiss. Motion passed unanimously. VALLEY STREAM WOODSBURGH Larry Hoppenhauer announced that Andrew Weiss has accepted appointment to the New York Community Airports Roundtable (NYCAR) as representative for the Town of Hempstead. This also means he will be part of the JFK Airport Committee (JFK AC). His appointment allows Larry Hoppenhauer to retain his Citizen Member representation on NYCAR and JFK AC. Next on the Agenda was the TVASNAC PowerPoint draft presentation. All had been given an outline of the content at a previous meeting. Larry Hoppenhauer had hoped to present the PowerPoint this evening, but it was not yet complete. He stated that it would be completed and sent to all for review and feedback prior to the next meeting. The leadership of the JFK AC is gearing up to establish a JFK AC sponsored Community Benefits Agreement (CBA). TVASNAC members had copies of the presentation given at the June 4th, JFK AC, when the CBA idea was introduced. On page 3, the definition of a CBA was given as “A Community Benefits Agreement is a contract signed by community groups and a real estate developer that requires the developer to provide specific amenities and/or mitigations to the local community or neighborhood.” When Los Angeles, CA, airport (LAX) was embarking on major redevelopment, a coalition of community based organizations and labor unions entered into a CBA with the city of Los Angeles in 2004. The CBA package included many labor related concessions, plus “funds for sound proofing affected schools and Minutes of Meeting Page 2 residences”. Also, “funds for studying the health impacts of airport operations on surrounding communities.” There will be an organizational meeting during August to see if there is interest in the community to form a JFK AC led coalition of Community Based groups. TVASNAC village membership was discussed. Larry Hoppenhauer reported that he had spoken with officials in the villages of Cedarhurst, and Stewart Manor regarding representatives attending the meetings. Also, he will contact representatives who haven’t attended regularly. He has requested that representatives please contact him vial text, email or phone if they are unable to attend a meeting. Regarding having the regular TVASNAC meetings in other village locations, Larry asked representatives to explore the possibility of hosting a meeting in their respective villages. A motion to adjourn was made and passed. The next regularly scheduled TVASNAC meeting will be held on Monday, August 27, 2018 at 7:00 PM. at the Nathan L.
