Bennett Pavilion Hempstead Town Hall Villages of ATLANTIC BEACH In Attendance: CEDARHURST FLORAL PARK Carl Baessler, Village of Atlantic Beach Larry Hoppenhauer, Executive Director / Secretary GARDEN CITY Kurt Langjahr, Village of New Hyde Park Larry Quinn, Village of Garden City LAWRENCE Andrew Weiss, Village of Floral Park MALVERNE (Sean Wright, Village of Valley Stream called to inform us his trustee duties will prevent him from attending.) NEW HYDE PARK STEWART MANOR The meeting was called to order and all recited the Pledge of Allegiance. VALLEY STREAM The minutes of meetings for Nov. 26, 2018 and Jan. 28, 2019 were presented for WOODSBURGH approval. Motion was made to approve by Kurt Langjahr and seconded by Carl Baessler. Motion passed unanimously. JFK Airport Committee (JFKAC) Meeting - on March 4, 2019 at 7:00 PM Port Authority Administration Building, JFK Airport. The agenda includes: • Follow-up on history of LGA nighttime flight restrictions • How the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) guidelines will be applied to the JFK Redevelopment Project • Presentations from JFKAC, Research & Development Committee, on impact of airport related air and noise pollution on our health. • Goal setting of 5 issues to pursue in 2019 Aidan Hughes, Community Liaison for Senator Todd Kaminsky – Announced that he has accepted a new position with Assemblywoman Judy Griffin, 21st Assembly District. He starts in this new position tomorrow. All congratulated Aidan Hughes on this new position. Larry Hoppenhauer expressed hopes that TVASNAC will have a good working relationship with Assemblywoman Griffin. Mr. Hughes had reached out to Quiet Skies Caucus for an update. He expects to have a written memorandum next week. He also inquired with the Senate Council to get update on pending legislation in the State Legislature. He expects that update by end of this week. Hughes will email Hoppenhauer with these updates. Minutes of Meeting Page 2 TVASNAC Administrative Update – Larry Hoppenhauer announced their will be a change in his responsibilities. Currently he is the Executive Director and Secretary for TVASNAC. Starting in March there will be a new Secretary for TVASNAC. Hoppenhauer will continue with his responsibilities as Executive Director. 2019- 2020 TVASNAC Budget Proposal – The proposed budget will be presented at the March TVASNAC meeting for review. A vote on the budget will be scheduled for the April TVASNAC meeting. There has been no change to the assessment to each village from the current budget. March Meeting – The representatives were asked if they want to host the meeting. It was consensus that we give further thought to the agenda for our next village meeting. The March meeting will be in the Pavilion, Hempstead Town Hall. TVASNAC 2019 Goals – The first and second goal was determined by vote of the representatives. However, there was a three-way tie for the third goal. Discussion ensued to determine which goal would be our third goal. A vote was taken, and these are TVASNAC Goals for 2019: 1. Support efforts to develop a new noise metric to replace dNL 2. Committee visit more member villages 3. Work towards better rotation of runways Next, the committee will work on action steps to achieve these goals. A motion to adjourn was made by Andrew Weiss and seconded by Kurt Langjahr. Motion passed unanimously. The next regularly scheduled TVASNAC meeting will be held on Monday, March 25, 2019, at 7:00 PM Nathan L.
