CITY OF HENDERSON BLUE RIBBON COMMISSION ON EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE AND YOUTH OPPORTUNITY REGULAR MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, December 13, 2017 The Blue Ribbon Commission meeting was not called to order due to lack of a quorum, and therefore, the meeting was not held. UB-2 LEADERSHIP DAY 2018 - KEYNOTE SPEAKER PUBLIC WORKS, PARKS AND RECREATION For Possible Action. RECOMMENDATION: Approve Approve Clark County Commissioner Lawrence Weekly for keynote speaker on Leadership Day 2018. UB-3 LEADERSHIP DAY 2018 - T-SHIRTS PUBLIC WORKS, PARKS AND RECREATION For Possible Action. RECOMMENDATION: Approve Approve Leadership Day t-shirt proof provided by City of Henderson Marketing Department UB-4 LEADERSHIP DAY GIVEAWAY BAGS AND PRIZE DONATIONS PUBLIC WORKS, PARKS AND RECREATION Discussion only Update on status of donations for giveaway bags and prize donations. Staff will provide a form letter for Commissioners to hand out to businesses when requesting donations. UB-5 LEADERSHIP DAY 2018 - WORKSHOPS Blue Ribbon Commission Page 4 of 5 Wednesday, December 13, 2017 - Agenda PUBLIC WORKS, PARKS AND RECREATION For Possible Action. RECOMMENDATION: Approve Discuss and recommend the topic format, length, and number of workshops for Leadership Day. Divide Commissioners into groups to lead each workshop. UB-6 LEADERSHIP DAY 2018 - ITINERARY PUBLIC WORKS, PARKS AND RECREATION For Possible Action. RECOMMENDATION: Approve Discuss and recommend the appropriate format and itinerary for Leadership Day. VI. NEW BUSINESS NB-7 MINUTES BLUE RIBBON COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 15, 2017 PUBLIC WORKS, PARKS AND RECREATION For Possible Action. RECOMMENDATION: Adopt Blue Ribbon Commission Regular Meeting Minutes of November 15, 2017 NB-8 INTRODUCE NEW CITY OF HENDERSON CHIEF OF POLICE, LATESHA WATSON, TO THE BLUE RIBBON COMMISSION PUBLIC AFFAIRS AND COMMUNICATIONS Discussion Only Introduction of Chief Watson to the Blue Ribbon Commission and identify the respective roles of both the Police Chief and The Blue Ribbon Commission within the Henderson Community. NB-9 ANNUAL BUSINESS OUTING Blue Ribbon Commission Page 5 of 5 Wednesday, December 13, 2017 - Agenda PUBLIC WORKS, PARKS AND RECREATION Discussion Only Discuss options for businesses to visit for the annual Business Outing. Each year the Blue Ribbon Commission visits an area business for the purpose of learning its business practices, mission, vision, and goals. VII.
