CITY OF HENDERSON CITIZENS TRAFFIC ADVISORY BOARD REGULAR MEETING MINUTES Thursday, August 17, 2017 I. CALL TO ORDER Acting Chairman Kenneth Curry called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers Conference Room, 240 Water Street, Henderson, Nevada. II. CONFIRMATION OF POSTING AND ROLL CALL Alainore Stallard, Administrative Assistant III, confirmed the meeting had been posted in accordance with the Nevada Open Meeting Law by posting the agenda three working days prior to the meeting at the Multigenerational Center, City Hall, Whitney Ranch Recreational Center, and Fire Station No. 86, the Nevada Public Notice website, and the City of Henderson website. Present: Kenneth B. Curry Karen Fabian Scott Heiny Scot Sheri Lileikis Kondala Rao Mantri Absent: Chairman Wayne Horlacher (excused) Staff: Rory Robinson, Senior Assistant City Attorney III Alyssa Rodriguez, City Traffic Engineer Irene Lam, Project Engineer II Jf Alainore Stallard, Administrative Assistant III III. PUBLIC COMMENT There were no public comments presented. IV. ACCEPTANCE OF AGENDA (For Possible Action) The Commissioners reviewed the Agenda as presented. Citizens Traffic Advisory Board Page 2 of 3 Thursday, August 17, 2017 – Minutes (Motion) Scott Heiny introduced a motion to accept the agenda as presented. The vote favoring approval was unanimous. Acting Chairman Kenneth Curry declared the motion carried. V. NEW BUSINESS NB-1 MINUTES CITIZENS' TRAFFIC ADVISORY BOARD MEETING JUNE 15, 2017 PUBLIC WORKS, PARKS AND RECREATION Citizens' Traffic Advisory Board Meeting minutes of June 15, 2017. (Motion) Scott Heiny introduced a motion to adopt the minutes of June 15, 2017, as presented. The vote favoring approval was unanimous. Acting Chairman Kenneth Curry declared the motion carried. NB-2 SPEEDING CONCERNS ON LAKE LAS VEGAS PARKWAY PUBLIC WORKS, PARKS AND RECREATION Board members will discuss speeding concerns on Lake Las Vegas Parkway from Montelago Boulevard to the northern terminus. Alyssa Rodriguez, City Traffic Engineer, gave a presentation with photos on residents’ concerns regarding speeding on Lake Las Vegas Parkway north of Montelago Boulevard and explained the speed limit evaluation planned for the area. The area was discussed. Acting Chairman Kenneth Curry asked for the information to be brought to the Board after the study is completed. NB-3 SPEEDING CONCERNS ON GALLERIA DRIVE PUBLIC WORKS, PARKS AND RECREATION Board members will discuss speeding concerns on Galleria Drive from Patrick Lane to Whitney Ranch Drive. Alyssa Rodriguez, City Traffic Engineer, gave a presentation with photos on residents’ concerns regarding speeding on Galleria Drive from Patrick Lane to Whitney Ranch Drive. The area was discussed. Citizens Traffic Advisory Board Page 3 of 3 Thursday, August 17, 2017 – Minutes Acting Chairman Kenneth Curry asked for the data to be collected and the matter to be put on the agenda when recommendations are ready. VI. CHAIRMAN\MEMBER COMMENTS There were no comments presented. VII. SET NEXT MEETING The next meeting was set for September 21, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. VIII. PUBLIC COMMENT Karen Fabian spoke about San Gabriel Avenue around Mission Hills Park. She is concerned about the rate of speed through the area from College Drive to San Jacinto Street. She asked that the matter be placed on the agenda for the next meeting. IX.
