CITY OF HENDERSON CITY COUNCIL MINUTES COMMITTEE MEETING Tuesday, November 7, 2017 I. CALL TO ORDER Mayor Pro Tem Stewart called the Committee Meeting to order at 5:54 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 240 Water Street, Henderson, Nevada 89015. Mayor Pro Tem Stewart announced this meeting is being video recorded and streamed live to the Internet. II. CONFIRMATION OF POSTING AND ROLL CALL The City Clerk confirmed the Committee Meeting had been noticed in compliance with the Open Meeting Law by posting the Agenda three working days prior to the meeting at City Hall, the Multigenerational Center, the Whitney Ranch Recreation Center, Fire Station No. 86, the Nevada Public Notice Website, the City of Henderson Website, and by mailing a copy of the Agenda to everyone appearing thereon on the Agenda Master Mailing List. Present: Dan H. Stewart, Mayor Pro Tem Gerri Schroder, Councilwoman John F. Marz, Councilman Dan K. Shaw, Councilman Absent: Debra March, Mayor Officers: Gregory Blackburn, Assistant City Manager Sabrina Mercadante, City Clerk Josh Reid, City Attorney Absent: Robert Murnane, City Manager Staff: Richard Derrick, Chief Financial Officer Robert Herr, Director of Public Works, Parks & Recreation Stephanie Garcia-Vause, Community Dev. and Services Director Tedie Jackson, Official Records Reporter Amber Ellis, Sr. Deputy City Clerk Henderson City Council Committee Meeting Page 2 of 3 Tuesday, November 7, 2017 – Minutes III. ACCEPTANCE OF AGENDA (Motion) Councilwoman Gerri Schroder moved to accept the agenda as presented. The roll call vote favoring passage was: Those voting aye: John F. Marz, Gerri Schroder, Dan K. Shaw, and Dan H. Stewart. Those voting nay: None. Those absent: Debra March. Those abstaining: None. Mayor Pro Tem Stewart declared the motion carried. IV. ITEMS OF BUSINESS C-1 BILL NO. 3188 AMEND HENDERSON MUNICIPAL CODE TITLE 8 PUBLIC PEACE AND SAFETY CITY ATTORNEY'S OFFICE Assistant City Manager Blackburn introduced and read this bill by title. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HENDERSON, NEVADA, TO AMEND TITLE 8 – PUBLIC PEACE AND SAFETY - OF THE HENDERSON MUNICIPAL CODE FOR THE PURPOSE ADDING CLARIFYING LANGUAGE, ADDING CERTAIN NEW CRIMES, AND DELETING UNNECESSARY SECTIONS. Josh Reid, City Attorney, presented a summary of this item, and noted corrections to HMC Section 8.10.220a, 8.10.220b, 8.11.250a, and 8.11.250b, to change the word “his” to “their.” (Motion) Councilwoman Gerri Schroder moved to refer Bill No. 3188, as amended, to the Regular Meeting with a do-pass recommendation. The roll call vote favoring passage was: Those voting aye: John F. Marz, Gerri Schroder, Dan K. Shaw, and Dan H. Stewart. Those voting nay: None. Those absent: Debra March. Those abstaining: None. Mayor Pro Tem Stewart declared the motion carried. V. PUBLIC COMMENT There were no public comments presented.
