CITY OF HENDERSON CITY COUNCIL MINUTES SPECIAL MEETING Tuesday, September 17, 2024 I. CALL TO ORDER (Minutes/Discussion) Councilman Dan H. Stewart called the Special Meeting to order at 2:30 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 240 South Water Street, Henderson, Nevada 89015. Councilman Stewart said to make it easier for residents to voice their comments, there will be two public comment periods, one at the beginning of the meeting, designated for comments related to items on the agenda, and one at the end of the meeting, for general public comment. Councilman Stewart stated the meeting is being video recorded and streamed live to the Internet and on YouTube. II. CONFIRMATION OF POSTING (Minutes/Discussion) Jose Luis Valdez, City Clerk, confirmed the Special Meeting had been noticed in compliance with the Nevada Open Meeting Law. III. ROLL CALL Present and responding to roll call were the following: Presiding Officer Dan H. Stewart, Councilman Michelle Romero, Mayor (via teleconference) Jim Seebock, Councilman (via teleconference) Dan K. PUBLIC COMMENT (Minutes/Discussion) There were no public comments presented. V. ACCEPTANCE OF AGENDA (Motion) Councilman Dan H. Stewart moved to accept the agenda, as presented. (Vote) The roll call vote favoring passage was: Those voting aye: Mayor Michelle Romero, Councilman Jim Seebock, Councilman Dan K. Shaw, Councilman Dan H. Stewart. Those voting nay: (None). Those absent: Councilwoman Carrie Cox. Those abstaining: (None). Result: Pass. VI. ITEMS OF BUSINESS 1 RATIFICATION OF ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER CMTS NUMBER(S): N/A CITY MANAGER'S OFFICE Ratification of the City Manager's appointment of Lisa M. Corrado as the Assistant City Manager. (Minutes/Discussion) Richard Derrick, City Manager/CEO, provided background information on Lisa Corrado and her qualifications. Mayor Michelle Romero and Councilmen Dan K. Shaw, Dan H. Stewart, and Jim Seebock congratulated Ms. Corrado on her appointment and spoke regarding her experience, qualifications, and contributions to the City. (Motion) Councilman Dan K. Shaw moved to ratify the City Manager's appointment of Lisa M. Corrado as the Assistant City Manager/Chief Strategy Officer. (Vote) The roll call vote favoring passage was: Those voting aye: Mayor Michelle Romero, Councilman Jim Seebock, Councilman Dan K. Shaw, Councilman Dan H. Stewart. Those voting nay: (None). Those absent: Councilwoman Carrie Cox. Those abstaining: (None). Result: Pass. CORRADO CMTS NUMBER(S): N/A CITY MANAGER'S OFFICE Ceremonial Oath of Office for Lisa M. Corrado, Assistant City Manager/Chief Strategy Officer. (Minutes/Discussion) Jose Luis Valdez, City Clerk, administered the Oath of Office to Lisa Corrado. Lisa Corrado, Assistant City Manager/Chief Strategy Officer, thanked Mayor and Council, City staff, and her family for their support as she begins her new role. VII. MAYOR/COUNCILMEMBER COMMENTS (Minutes/Discussion) Councilman Jim Seebock thanked City management for the appointment of Lisa Corrado to Assistant City Manager/Chief Strategy Officer. VIII. PUBLIC COMMENT (Minutes/Discussion) There were no public comments presented. IX. The Mayor/Chair reserves the right to curtail abusive, offensive, inflammatory, or repetitive comments that disrupt, disturb, or otherwise impede the orderly conduct of the meeting.
