NB-2 UPDATE ON VISIT HENDERSON WEBSITE DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT Economic Development & Tourism The Manager of Business Operations and Tourism provided an update on phase two of the Visit Henderson website revamp, which includes building content pages and launching a new splash page. Since August 21, there have been nearly 1,100 new users to visit the site, which is an increase of 10% compared to the same time last year and users are spending an average of 20 seconds longer on the site. Also, there has been a decrease in the bounce rate. Tourism is also working on an eblast that will go out to over 15,000 meeting planners in the next two weeks and staff is also working with The Abbi Agency to create material that can be posted on Facebook and Instagram. Ms. Anderson distributed content architecture i.e. a “blueprint” for the base level of the website with all the different pages that need to be built out. There are three different types of boxes for the “blueprint”: gray = content; white/green = call to action; white/blue = pages that will open up listings. The Commissioners offered several suggestions including incorporating a booking engine for golf packages, adding a transportation focus i.e. how to get around and include a link for special offers to Henderson businesses. Also, events included on the website will be focused on the out of market tourism draw. Ms. Anderson noted that the website design was based on research done during the branding process and looking at national trends. Also, most users are coming to the website via mobile devices, so we want to make sure it works well on mobile devices. The next phase will be an expanded navigation for desktop so the navigation will be listed across the top of the page.
