RECOMMENDATION: Approve Henderson Community Education Advisory Board meeting minutes of March 27, 2024. 2 PRESENTATION BLUE RIBBON COMMISSION ON EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE AND YOUTH OPPORTUNITY ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR CITY MANAGER’S OFFICE For Information and Discussion Only. Staff will summarize the June 4, 2024, presentation to City Council by Chair Emily Heitzman, College of Southern Nevada High School - South, and Vice Chair Rachael Martin, Coral Academy of Science - Sandy Ridge, of the Blue Ribbon Commission on Educational Excellence and Youth Opportunity Annual Report for the 2023-2024 School Year setting forth the Commission's efforts, results, and future plans. Henderson Community Education Advisory Board Meeting Page 3 of 4 Wednesday, June 26, 2024 - Agenda 3 PRESENTATION CHARTER AUTHORITY PROCESS UPDATE CITY MANAGER’S OFFICE For Information and Discussion Only. Tara Phebus, Education Initiatives Officer, will provide an update on the current status of the City’s application and next steps in the process for the City to sponsor charter schools. 4 PRESENTATION WORK PLAN REVIEW CITY MANAGER’S OFFICE For Information and Discussion Only. Staff will present the 2019-2024 Community Education Advisory Board (CEAB) Workplan, detailing its key components and objectives. They will highlight its alignment with the strategic plan and review progress made toward identified goals and lead a discussion on possible updates ensuring it remains relevant and effective. 5 PRESENTATION CCSD QUARTERLY MUNICIPALITY REPORT CITY MANAGER’S OFFICE For Information and Discussion Only. Tara Phebus, Education Initiatives Officer, will present data from the Clark County School District’s Quarterly Municipality Report provided to City Council on June, 18, 2024. 6 PRESENTATION AMERICORPS PROGRAM UPDATES CITY MANAGER’S OFFICE For Information and Discussion Only. Sofia Danaher, AmeriCorps Grant Coordinator, will provide an update on the City’s AmeriCorps Program, including results of recruitment efforts and program outcomes. Henderson Community Education Advisory Board Meeting Page 4 of 4 Wednesday, June 26, 2024 - Agenda 7 STAFF UPDATE GENERAL ITEMS CITY MANAGER’S OFFICE For Information and Discussion Only. Staff will give brief updates on the 2023-24 Mayor’s Honor Roll Awards and the end-of-year school recognitions; including the Robotics Recognition, HOPE Squad Recognition, and Class of 2024 Valedictorian Recognition.
