City Council Meeting

OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS CITY OF HERREID, SOUTH DAKOTA SPECIAL MEETING July 12, 2021 The Herreid City Council was called to order by Mayor Gary Weismantel on the above date at 7:00pm at Herreid Community Center. The following members were present: A. Dupper and K. Rossow, R. Rossow, P. Weisbeck, Lacy Fuehrer, with K. Haar absent. K. Harr joined the meeting via Zoom at 7:07PM. Also, present were: M. Neeley, Finance Officer; R. Goehring, Maintenance Supervisor; Brandon Smid; Engineer with Helms & Associates, Orland Geigle; Prairie Pioneer, and multiple community members. Moved by Dupper, seconded by Fuehrer to approve the agenda. All members present voted aye, motion carried. Old Business Sewer Project Following discussion, it was determined that B&B will be asked to deliver both class 5 aggregate and larger rocks to be used to stabilize Railway Ave. Maintenance Goehring will work to dig out a layer of the road, then fill in with the large rock, finishing off the top layer with several inches of the class 5 aggregate. Smid advised that the City could approve the request for payment, which would allow funding to be released from USDA, but hold payment to B&B until the project punch list items were finished-presumably at the August City Council Meeting. Additionally, Smid will prepare a contingency statement to be included with the Certificate of Completion indicating that completion is dependent on resolution of punch list items (asphalt, gravel, etc.). Moved by Dupper, seconded by Weisbeck, all members present except K. Rossow voted aye (K. Rossow voted against), motion passed to sign the Draw #7 document prepared for USDA. With no further business, moved by Fuehrer, seconded by R.
