City Council Meeting

__________________________________________________________________________________ COMMON COUNCIL MINUTES Monday, February 15, 2021 The Common Council Meeting was called to order by Mayor Greg Kubarski on Monday, February 15, 2021 at 7:00 PM. All present stood and recited the Pledge of Alliance. Mayor Kubarski asked for affirmation of proper public notice to which City Clerk Sheila Schraufnagel replied, “Yes”. Roll call was taken with Alderpersons Rick Hanke, Garth Hitselberger, Patricia Moen, Darrow Novy, Elizabeth Parish, and Randy Seeley. Thomas Hotek and Mark Lankey was present via phone conference. Others in attendance were: City Administrator Adam Sonntag, City Clerk Sheila Schraufnagel, City Treasurer Lisa Johnson, Police Chief Patrick Clark, Jeff Belongia with Huntington Securities, Inc., Librarian Jacqueline Johnson, and Hillsboro Sentry Editor, Nicolette Nauman. Motion by Hitselberger, second by Hanke to approve the January 18, 2021 Common Council minutes and February 2, 2021 Special Common Council Minutes. Motion carried. Motion by Lankey, seconded by Hotek to approve the monthly bills for payment. Motion carried. Jeff Belongia from Huntington Securities was present to update the Council on the Dam/Dredging Financing and $2MM Construction Loan Refunding. Motion by Seeley, seconded by Moen to approve Pay Application #11 to Terra Engineering & Construction for Dam Project in the amount of $112, 347.26. Motion carried. Motion by Hanke, seconded by Hitselberger to approve the Urban Forestry Grant Consulting Contract with Bluestem Forestry Consulting, Inc. in the amount of $6,340. Motion carried. Motion by Hitselberger, seconded by Hanke to adjourn at 8:00 P.M. Motion carried.
